Gingerbread Studios Announces The Protector

Indiana Jones made archaeology cool. Substitute Nazis for terrorists, throw in a dash of Uncharted and Resident Evil, and you have something that newly formed Polish developer Gingerbread Studios hopes you'll find even cooler.

The Protector, announced Friday for the Xbox 360, puts players in the role of British mercenary Johnathon Kane, hired to protect U.S. archaeologist Jennifer Guile. Guile is the only one who knows where to find a lost Aztec artifact of terrible power, making her a prime target for the terrorist organization Scarlet Vengeance, which has apparently cornered the market on artifacts of terrible power.

WTF? Didnt Sonys London studio had game called The protector in works? It was in 1UP rumor last month

Bacon6575d ago (Edited 6575d ago )

They never confirmed the platform it was for. There was even a different rumor saying Eight Days was renamed to The Protector.

Fact is, Sony London Studios is currently busy with Eight Days, not this garbage that we're seeing here (The Protector).

1. Who's Gingerbread Studios?
2. Why do the graphics look so bad?
3. Why should we care?

I don't know you tell me, I figured the time spent trolling in here with your 2 comments would have produced some anwsers by now.

EDIT: Well I found some anwsers from actually reading the text from 1up, you should try it. lol

This looks like another average shooter for the Xbox 360. The Protector will surely be thrown into the middle of the clearance bin by a couple months after release. The gaming industry clearly is tired of mediocre shooters, which is one of many reasons why Microsoft has failed to gain top marketshare on two consecutive consoles.

With the stellar lineup of AAA titles listed for PLAYSTATION®3, Dark Sniper will be too busy playing B3yond to even think twice about this forgetful title.

Why would they name this title after a Tony Jaa movie?

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
