Basher, resident cynic of BiasBear, lists his top 3 things he hates most about the Titanfall Beta.

EA is laying off an unknown number of individuals from across its Battlefield teams, including workers at Criterion, Dice, Ripple Effect, and Motive Studios, IGN understands.
When logic meets EA it generates anti-matter ..... so try not to apply it in any meaningful way. Entropy is what matters in there !!
cue the apologist saying that these are mostly just contractors hired for this specific project bla bla bla

The free-to-play reboot topped 15 million players in under three weeks, but EA now claims it needs to reshape the development team.
The community warned them this would happen but nope they knew better they continued with the live service push the made the art style cartoonish and this is the result

The Congressional Labor Caucus sent a letter to the FTC warning the debt-financed, largely PIF-owned deal could be bad news for workers
lol ya think? they're sending all that work to the cheaper labor market as soon as possible. and FYI, that labor market has exploded in the last 5-10 years. They have enough people to replace every single job. But honestly, EA is over filled with useless upper management as it is. You could probably trim 25% of their staff with no real loss in production. They aren't gamers, they're business execs. Just look at how many AI related jobs they're already starting to post. Its also hilarious that PIF owns Battle field 6
Wait,
The same congress that attacked Lina Khan when she fought the Microsoft Activision purchase.
The same congress that allowed Disney to buy 90% of Fox
The same congress that allowed Liv Golf to buy the PGA
The same congress that sits back while Paramount tries a hostile takeover despite losing the bid for Warner Bros.
NOW, the suddenly cares about doing what's "right" for works? Yeah, right.
EA now owned by The Saudis and Ubisoft to inevitably be owned by China. In hindsight, once EA and Ubisoft started having their financial woes, they should have pulled a Koei Tecmo/Bandai Namco by merging their operations into one.
This article certainly lives up to the website's name.
I think people are viewing the random AI wrong. I see them as creeps like in MOBAs. Worth a little towards the goal of a Titan whereas a player, just like in MOBAs, are worth considerably more.
1) Smart Pistol: I've not had a problem with this. I tend to get killed by the assault rifle more. The Smart pistol takes a while to lock on and the way skirmishes start, the moment you spot someone, yo fire. It's only really effective if the enemy is in close to medium(ish) range and if you catch the enemy unawares
2)"So why the low player count, tight maps, and filler minions? I don’t know, Respawn said so and you take it as gospel."
Tight maps? The two maps are really well designed and I don't see the player count as a problem at all. Every game I play is action packed and it has nothing really to do with the minions.
How many times have you heard, "warning, your are outnumbered 2 to 1" or 3 to 1 etc. Titan gameplay now requires skill and it shouldnt become a complete cluster****.
3) "It Is Not Next Gen"
Well it is available on current gen consoles how is it purporting to be next-gen? What did it win those awards for? Visuals? The gameplay footage at E3 last year made it clear that it wasn't visually impressive. We already knew that. The author clearly did not.
I dont think this guy even played the game. 4 AI kill's gets you 1 point? no, each kill gets a point and 4 points for real people. the maps are well designed and fun. the AI is a bit dumb(as in they stupid)but they keep you feeling like your always having fun. i think 8 vs 8 with a few less AI would be good or even 6 vs 6 with smarter AI who have weaker weapons.
I really like the smart pistol, but it definitely isn't a noob weapon. For it to be really effective you need to get the drop on your opponent. Also, if you get the drop on 3-4 opponents it can hit each of them with one bullet alerting them that they've been ambushed and giving them time to react. It does however offer something new to the FPS. I like running around with it, avoiding open areas, sneaking up on opponents.....it encourages a style of play.
I don't know about the low player count yet. I didn't seem to notice it last night when I played. Bots do act as cannon fodder, but its that cannon fodder that makes you always feel like you're on a streak. I'm not a bad FPS player, but I found myself smiling playing titanfall alot more than other FPS games.
Not Next Gen? Not sure what you consider next gen... graphically its actually better than I thought it would be- though I did set the bar low. Online was I really do think it is a step above past gen. Everything is fast and fluid....from the gameplay to the lobbys arranging a game.
Like it or not, its hard to deny that it offers a new FPS experience. There's no game its like, though obviously all FPSs share some traits.
I do like it, but I have to play it more to know if I love it
