Always stoked to hear about a new game, but I am not too sure what I really got from this trailer. Other than the fact the visuals look awfully pretty for a mobile game.

[GamerAttitude] Doom Warrior on PC | Closed Beta Review

Melissa Welliver talks Doom Warrior at Gamer Attitude: Enter the arena to the sound of adoring fans and bloody screams in this new gladiatorial MMORPG by Creaky Corpse Ltd. A neat little historical adventure, the premise of this *currently* closed beta game is simple: successfully defeat other opponents created by other users and gain enough experience, gems and most of all prestige to continue to bigger and better bosses. Of course, between rounds the player can shop til’ they drop at the online shop for armour and weapons, or purchase special limited buffs to help their character defeat the competition when the player is offline. Another cool little feature is the selection of shops that unlock as you progress, which really makes for fierce gameplay even when not part of a guild.

GameSaga Previews Doom Warrior, The Gladiatorial MMO Combat Game From Creaky Corpse

Doom Warrior is an upcoming gladiator MMO combat game from Creaky Corpse. The idea is to go around fighting other players and NPCs and levelling your gladiator to the tops of the charts each week. Unlike most games these days, Doom Warrior uses the arrows key as a control method (remember when all games did this?). In GameSaga's preview the game starts off with a short tutorial which teaches you how to fight. You receive prompts in the middle of the screen where your eyes naturally would be focused. These tell you which buttons to hit to perform attacks & blocks. Later on when you’re past the tutorial, you no longer receive attack hints, just blocking ones. They are also moved out of the middle of the screen and to the bottom left corner. Not sure why, but GameSaga guesses it’s to keep it out of the way of the action. You wouldn’t notice it at first if you didn’t know it was there as it goes away fairly quickly.

Wow. That definitely needed to be 23 minutes long. It was like a sequel to Gladiator considering the depth of the story. Gameplay looks great. Look out for GOTY editions in the future.

Not sure if this comment was sarcasm or not, but it was designed to show a full use of all available fights (since you all get a set number per hour), to show the most content possible.

That was a fun 10 minutes or so!

SlappingOysters4455d ago

Bit of a random mix. If nothing else it shows how diverse a range of games indie gamers are into.

Makes a mockery of the "corridor shooter" or "open-world action game."
