Anyone who needs a guide on how to play this mode shouldn't be playing it in the first place. I know that sounds harsh, but I have seen more complexity in a game of tic tac toe.
I absolutely love Extinction mode. The people that play this are much cooler than the multiplayer mode by far, as well.
