Earlier this month, Capcom held a media event at its Osaka, Japan R&D Studios to present Bionic Commando Rearmed to the North American press. The series has been around since 1988, when Capcom released the original Bionic Commando on the NES. Two subsequent versions have since been released, garnering the series a loyal fan base: one game in 1992 on the Game Boy, and another seven years later for the Game Boy Color.
Now, 20 years after the series' very first release, Bionic Command Rearmed returns as a full remake of the original on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Although Gamespot have seen this new version before, Capcom recently unveiled a variety of new features, including the Challenge Room, Database, various multiplayer modes, and other settings and options to try out.

The Humble Capcom Heroic Collection Bundle just launched recently. It has ten items including Monster Hunter Rise, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, and more.

"On this week's episode of The 1099 Podcast, the composer at 10 Chambers, former audio director at Starbreeze, and man behind the sound design in favorites like Payday 2, Bionic Commando Rearmed, and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, Simon Viklund, joins host Josiah Renaudin to explain how sound gets into games. Simon details what it's like creating both music and sounds for major video games, how aspiring designers can break into the industry, whether or not you have to capture all of your own original sounds, and what makes upcoming co-op shooter GTFO special."

Neil writes: "Whilst many out there will be hotly anticipating jumping on a plane and heading off for a summer break, even more will just be happy to kick back with a controller in hand, seeing out the summer with some hot and sweaty gaming sessions. And what better way to enjoy the delights of the summer sun than by picking up a new game or two at discounted prices.
