Strange. I totally expected the guy from EA to say that his company was putting out a shoddy product that will most likely get panned by critics. Who would have ever thought that he would say his firm's product was a good one?

Talk about counting your chickens before they've hatched. Go on, EA set yourselves up. There's nothing like over hyping a game, and feeding expectations, to the point wheret you just can't satisfy the customers.

Just let the game speak for itself. Let the gamers be the judge of how good it is.

KnowAll4595d ago

Because the checks are sent in advance this time, this just makes me suspicious of the media reviews

Thehyph4595d ago (Edited 4595d ago )

I'm with you Mike.

At the same time though, some of the guys at Respawn have legitimately won GOTY awards from some pretty good publications.

P0werVR4595d ago

It's obvious it's going to turn out real good. I believe EA are just very confident. BF4 no doubt is going to be great. EA is doing pretty good since mid last year.

nick3094595d ago

Its made by the team that cod. How wont it succeed?

Stick894595d ago

Because it's being published by EA, seriously if anyone can screw up a good thing it's EA.

The first Titanfall might be a good/great game, but just wait for the annual releases of worse and worse quality sequels until the team is reduced to just 3 or 4 guys making free to play cash grab games on mobiles.

Philoctetes4595d ago

I have absolutely no doubt that Titanfall will sell a boatload of units. I was just making a little joke about how a suit gets in front of a mic, says that his firm's product is going to be good, and that becomes "news."

Deadpoolio4595d ago

Um lest see, it's online only, has NO story....It's being published by EA....Wont be surprising when it gets 6-7s....But at least it means that when it does well but not as well as it could that Titanfall 2 will actually have a SP campaign

rainslacker4595d ago

Strangely enough polio, I would actually welcome a resurgence in the focus of SP campaigns in games. The SP seems to be taking more and more a back seat as this gen progressed, and it's looking even more grim for the upcoming gen.

The fact that EA has gone on record saying they won't release a game without having an online component is disheartening, because a lot of these games I would love to play, but really don't like MP that much. Uncharted 2 did it right. A strong story based SP campaign, and a great MP game to go with it. The best of both worlds, and one wasn't sacrificed to mediocrity because of the other.

I'm pretty sure that Duke Nukem Forever was projected to make millions as well. Forecasts might as well use chicken bones and entrails.

Whitey2k4595d ago

shame that EA is to much up MS's arse the start of then Generation even ps3 didn't have this support at the start just shows how one company can be greedy

Fireseed4595d ago

Your logic alludes my friend. EA isn't releasing their game on multiple and therefore not selling to more people... and that makes them greedy?

SonyNGP4595d ago (Edited 4595d ago )

It's not on PS4. Therefore, they must be greedy.

...Even though it's not exclusive to Xbox One to begin with.

@below:

They are supporting the PS4. If they weren't, they would've pulled a Dreamcast on it just like they did with the Wii U.

Stop being butthurt.

Whitey2k4595d ago

lets see fifa in every1 xbone lets see Exclusive content of BF4 and exclusive third party titanfull must I say more? yes makes them greedy. u name me one thing that they done with ps3 first came out just besides DLC for bf3 we didn't get none of that rubbish.. and EA CEO has the ballz to say we support the ps4 aswell my friggin arse there supporting it

Fireseed4595d ago

@Whitey2k

You don't get it. They're making a deal with MS for what we can only presume will be a fraction of what they made if they had put it on multiple platforms. The main reason for this is because they have strong ties with MS. I mean it makes sense seeing as Peter Moore is the current COO of Electronic Arts, after being the Vice President of the Xbox division.

Ya seegreed would be them putting these games on every platform know to man... but they're not.

jackanderson19854595d ago

there's no guarantee that titanfall will be a success, MS has paid them what can only be guessed a hefty sum (i'm thinking around 200-250mil) for console exclusivity to MS products and possibly only on windows 8 (not sure on that one).... by accepting the deal EA have guaranteed they're making money on Titanfall (say dev costs of 125mil and another 75mil on marketing).... is it greedy i don't think so it's a way to ensure the product is at least breakeven for EA, securing them a future in the gaming world which has seen a pretty big company in THQ fail already

Pancit_Canton4595d ago (Edited 4595d ago )

They better get their check ready.

Activision always have their check included via DLC.

Funantic14595d ago

EA is considering the 60+ awards Titanfall won.

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad1359d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g1359d ago (Edited 1359d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."
