Lums Review (Modojo)

John Bedford (Modojo): You might be tempted to take one look at Lums, roll your eyes, and assume it's just another Angry Birds knock-off in a long line of Angry Birds knock-offs. Well, appearances can be deceiving sometimes, and while it's true that this is physics puzzling as we very much know and love/hate it, there's plenty that's new about this game that makes it worthy of a second look.

AppAdvice: I’m rather loving this game so far, as it is beautiful, haunting, and the gameplay is based on skill rather than luck. The controls will take a bit of time getting used to, as you pretty much need to keep your finger on the screen at all times, otherwise you will mess up. It also seems to require much more movement than needed to fully maneuver them, but this is not a big issue.

Touch Arcade - Lums Review

Touch Arcade - As one of the original genres on iOS, the physics puzzler has seemingly been done to death ever since the wild success of Angry Birds. While many have tried to recreate its popularity few games have succeeded, instead electing to emulate the game in mechanics only. Lums [$0.99 / $1.99 (HD)] by Hyperbolic Magnetism takes a different route, incorporating familiar elements of the genre with objectives that turn it completely on its head. It succeeds masterfully too, making it one of the better physics-based puzzlers to hit the App Store in some time.
