I really wanted this game to be good I was so disappointed when I finally played it, if they made a sequel and fixed everything that was wrong with the first one I would be happy :)

I know everybody seems to hate it it, and I understand why they do. However, after the bugs got fixed (as I recall it took a month or two), I really enjoyed the game. I never play online multiplayer shooters. EVER. I tried gears of war MP and maybe one other early on. Even though I beat Gears 1 on the hardest difficulty setting, I was constantly dieing, often seemingly instantly and out of nowhere. I had to deal with teammates who would kill me, tell me I sucked, then boot me out of the game. I heard cussing kids, and rude people. I just wanted no part of it. Brink advertised that it was for people who don't play MP (there were other ways to earn rewards than killing, no oneshot deaths, you didn't have to hear or talk to other people, etc.) For me it worked.

I fully understand that for people who play multiplayer games, Brink was lacking, and even I found several faults with the game. I won't call it underrated, because I fully understand why others didn't like it. But for me and my experience, it was the only multiplayer shooter I have ever found that I enjoyed and had a good time with. I played it for months on end, and despite its flaws, I look back on it very fondly.

If they made a sequel, I would be all over it.

You talk an awful lot of sense, and you make the point I should have made in the article! Brink is far from a bad game, maybe I'm one of the multiplayer people you talk about and that's why it fell short for me. It could also be that I set my expectations too high, not giving it a chance to live up to the perfection I was expecting from it.
