No More Mass Effect, Please

CheatCC Says: "Word on the Internet is that BioWare is investigating possible Mass Effect spin-offs. While I probably wouldn't mind a Sleeping Dogs style game starring Garrus, or a game aiding Wrex in his rebuilding of Tuchanka, SimCity style; I wouldn't get crazy excited about either. Even a rip-off of the forthcoming Mew-Genics with Mordin wouldn't make me bat an eye. (I lie – I'd love to play as a crazy, Varren-hoarding Mordin.) A new game, no matter how brilliant, won’t change the fact that Mass Effect doesn't need a spin-off, prequel, or even sequel."

I would love a new Mass Effect. But i don't want a prequel that to me seems lazy

EVILDEAD3604753d ago

More Mass Effect please. Just don't play it if you don't like the series.

Evil.

@ Mega,

Yeah the whole prequel thing wouldn't be as strong.

Give me 1,000 years after the trilogy

I would prefer to see the aftermath of the Reaper War. The universe is large enough that some unknown race could try to come in and take over everything. See how well all those alliances held together in the end, or if it was just a one time deal. The amount of political intrigue that could bring to the story would be cool.

Unfortunately, no matter which way they decide to handle it, people are probably going to complain about it.:(

Edit: I also feel a prequel would be kind of weak, since they already established that the Reapers did all this in cycles, and it was Shepard who finally broke it. I suppose they could just have some other race, like one going against the protheans during their conquest.

I'd rather have a new KOTOR now that EA has the SW license.

j_shorty24753d ago

I agree no prequels, there's just something about them that doesn't catch my attention much. I'd prefer a sequel but taking place way into the future. Maybe you're huge choices will make into account. Like the Quardians being dead or everybody is indocrinated.

Speak for yourself. More ME makes me happy, I'm one of the few who enjoyed the Extended Cut ending.

When logic meets EA it generates anti-matter ..... so try not to apply it in any meaningful way. Entropy is what matters in there !!

cue the apologist saying that these are mostly just contractors hired for this specific project bla bla bla

The community warned them this would happen but nope they knew better they continued with the live service push the made the art style cartoonish and this is the result

isarai_lee83d ago

It's always so bizarre when studios announce something super early in development under the suggestion of forming the game to player feedback, and then they push against all feedback heading straight for the cliff while everyone is warning them along the way

US Lawmakers Urge Review Of EA Sale

The Congressional Labor Caucus sent a letter to the FTC warning the debt-financed, largely PIF-owned deal could be bad news for workers

lol ya think? they're sending all that work to the cheaper labor market as soon as possible. and FYI, that labor market has exploded in the last 5-10 years. They have enough people to replace every single job. But honestly, EA is over filled with useless upper management as it is. You could probably trim 25% of their staff with no real loss in production. They aren't gamers, they're business execs. Just look at how many AI related jobs they're already starting to post. Its also hilarious that PIF owns Battle field 6

Wait,

The same congress that attacked Lina Khan when she fought the Microsoft Activision purchase.
The same congress that allowed Disney to buy 90% of Fox
The same congress that allowed Liv Golf to buy the PGA
The same congress that sits back while Paramount tries a hostile takeover despite losing the bid for Warner Bros.

NOW, the suddenly cares about doing what's "right" for works? Yeah, right.

No. There were elections and some of the scum were replaced.

Different elections. Different scum. Same results.

i know its a long shot, but i hope this gets shot down.

EA now owned by The Saudis and Ubisoft to inevitably be owned by China. In hindsight, once EA and Ubisoft started having their financial woes, they should have pulled a Koei Tecmo/Bandai Namco by merging their operations into one.
