I wouldn't be surprised since MOH[modern warfare]failed twice

WUTCHUGUNNADO4789d ago (Edited 4789d ago )

MOH has failed since it left PS1. You can't put all the blame on Danger close... they didn't invent the super Nazi's in Airborne.

porkChop4789d ago

Actually they did. Danger Close used to be known as EA Los Angeles, and before that they were known as Dreamworks Interactive. These are the guys that created the Medal of Honor series, and they've developed almost all MoH games, including Airborne.

Medal of Honour
Frontlines
Rising Sun
Spear Head
Allied Assault
Pacific Assault
Are Brilliant games

"MOH failed since it left PS1"

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that i'm afraid.

The PS2 generation was packed with so many more genres that sold as well as shooters do now, but even for a platform that i wasn't big on the FPS with, MOH: Rising Sun, MOH: Frontlines and MOH: Allied Assault were some of my favourite games on the PS2.

The reasons MOH suffered this time round (PS3/360) are the same reasons that Call Of Duty SHOULD be suffering from right now, complete lack of originality and not a creative bone in it's body. But the COD brand is popular so it gets a free pass where the same problem crippled MOH to 2/10.

Albie3604789d ago

Well I feel like they stole my money with the last MOH. It was crap. I could not even still to date finish the SP campaign. Multiplayer we do not even mention.

EA really think this is a joke, don't they? I guarantee DICE will close if BF loses its charm, and any other decent studio they own for that matter. EA has exceeded Activision in terms of how low they've sunk.

You see, it's companies like this ruining, and destroying gaming. By sucking every cent from a franchise then demolishing that game's studio - it's ridiculous - and shouldn't be allowed to happen. I wonder how many hard-working, honest professionals have lost their favourite job due to EA's greed.

I'd love to know who makes these decisions? A group of "professionals?" Surely they don't see the decimation of art to be a good, honest day's work? It's completely EA's fault. Not many other publishers run down franchises to the point of failure; once successful franchises too. Thankyou EA. Your silence says it all. I hope to see your wretched corporation self destruct by annihilating all of your good studios. Leave, EA, you won't be missed. In fact, you'll do gaming a favour. No longer will other studios practically "rape" their games of content to sell it as DLC later on in the year. No longer will studios be stripped of what they once were to nab EA a quick dime.

This is becoming so serious that if EA don't change, they'll be the modern standard 1980's games publisher. They release trash too often with too little done to it. EA and Activision lead the gaming industry's notorious list of "joke" publishers; however, EA lead this elusive list for being so immorally wrong.

EA controls their studios like a disease, and cuts them off like a French guillotine.
Just die, EA.

this studio really have no talent. i can see it in their hbad games

Yodagamer4789d ago

They made great games as ea la and dreamwork's interactive. I don't know what happened to them as danger close, i don't know if it was the new setting or the new storylines, but something happened.

WUTCHUGUNNADO4789d ago

They may close down a lot of devs but it's not like they round up all their workers and shoot them so they can't use their talent elsewhere. Usually when a studio closes the talent gets sucked up before the doors lock.

zme-ul4789d ago

"refused to confirm" - it's closed all right

CanadianTurtle4789d ago

It's funny, when the game trailer first came out, all the gamers thought this was going to be the CoD killer and was going to be an outstanding title. It ended up being the most generic games of this gen. And the online is just terrible

porkChop4789d ago

MoH 2010 wasn't perfect but it had some promise. Warfighter was just pure trash. I don't think they should be closed though. The team has a lot of talent and they did well before changing their name to Danger Close. MoH failed because EA forced them to go after CoD. Just let them make a new IP with their own style, or let them go back to World War 2.

When logic meets EA it generates anti-matter ..... so try not to apply it in any meaningful way. Entropy is what matters in there !!

cue the apologist saying that these are mostly just contractors hired for this specific project bla bla bla

The community warned them this would happen but nope they knew better they continued with the live service push the made the art style cartoonish and this is the result

isarai_lee89d ago

It's always so bizarre when studios announce something super early in development under the suggestion of forming the game to player feedback, and then they push against all feedback heading straight for the cliff while everyone is warning them along the way

US Lawmakers Urge Review Of EA Sale

The Congressional Labor Caucus sent a letter to the FTC warning the debt-financed, largely PIF-owned deal could be bad news for workers

lol ya think? they're sending all that work to the cheaper labor market as soon as possible. and FYI, that labor market has exploded in the last 5-10 years. They have enough people to replace every single job. But honestly, EA is over filled with useless upper management as it is. You could probably trim 25% of their staff with no real loss in production. They aren't gamers, they're business execs. Just look at how many AI related jobs they're already starting to post. Its also hilarious that PIF owns Battle field 6

Wait,

The same congress that attacked Lina Khan when she fought the Microsoft Activision purchase.
The same congress that allowed Disney to buy 90% of Fox
The same congress that allowed Liv Golf to buy the PGA
The same congress that sits back while Paramount tries a hostile takeover despite losing the bid for Warner Bros.

NOW, the suddenly cares about doing what's "right" for works? Yeah, right.

No. There were elections and some of the scum were replaced.

TheColbertinator123d ago

Different elections. Different scum. Same results.

i know its a long shot, but i hope this gets shot down.

EA now owned by The Saudis and Ubisoft to inevitably be owned by China. In hindsight, once EA and Ubisoft started having their financial woes, they should have pulled a Koei Tecmo/Bandai Namco by merging their operations into one.
