At this point, the press is rampant with speculation about how the next generation is going to play out. In this editorial from 1985FM, we talk about the problems with trying to guess the outcome in an uncertain marketplace.

All available May 5.
I think the only game here for me is Nine Sols. Was always interested in that game.
Good month for me, I wanted that particular footy game and thought it might be due. Anyway who cares, shame about the site I'll miss the comment sections. All the best everyone.
Naughty Dog was reportedly divided on the controversial fate of Joel in The Last of Us Part 2 during the game's development.
I think it was good decision, if he was still alive, he would have been a mascot just like Kratos, drake and many others. These old dudes gotta die for new characters to take center stage with their own storyline. They keep dragging the emotional baggage into many sequels and eventually the story just turns into absolute shit show.
Honestly as much as I loved the game, they could have just not killed him off.
I get it creator vision and all but killing a character that made you millions is just wrong imo. At least have him go down fighting.

Square Enix launches Final Fantasy X 25th anniversary site, revealing new Nomura art, books, music releases, and merchandise.
Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.
Said it before and I'll say it again; the gaming industry is very unpredictable. I don't think anyone can make a prediction about new hardware and expect it to be 100% accurate. Who would have guessed that an underpowered console with an obscurely shaped controller would walk away selling almost 100 million units? Who could have guessed that Xbox LIVE would dominate the better portion of the generation in terms of software (not to mention receive many franchises once loyal to the Sony brand like Metal Gear, Final Fantasy and Devil May Cry)?
Certainly not me.
Repost from earlier:
There are a lot of "IF"'s floating around out there-
Everybody knows how well PS4 and 720 are going to do... but how?
It is entertaining to read everything being said, for and against- even impartial speculation-
BUT the truth is we don't know.
IF after E3 and the following Nintendo Directs, I don't see a lot of Big 3rd Party and 1st Party Games or Announcement then I will seriously doubt WiiU's contention for the crown.
But all of this could backfire if this time 2014 PS4 or 720 haven't sold as much as the WiiU has this year.
To be honest the WiiU is ahead of 360 and PS3 sales Launch- The numbers bear this out- But below the sales of Wii at this point in its launch.
Can't wait to watch the Big 3 in Action this E3.
It doesnt matter to me how much more powerful/weaker the ps4 is to the next xbox, im still going with the ps4. Not because I hate microsoft but because Im more of a fan of the sony exclusives. So who beats who in terms of sales/specs doesnt have a major impact on me.
The author brings up a good point about the new Zelda, Mario Land, Smash Bros, and Mario Kart. I had one of those moments where I wanted to go out and grab a Wii U like some sort of deranged 7 year old. :D
In all seriousness, I enjoyed this article. Good to see an impartial perspective. I am personally going to wait until everyones cards are on the table before I decide who I think will come out on top.
I do have it in high-hopes that Microsoft will have an impressive offering. Don't believe everything you read...
Nothing is better for the industry than good competition.
