It's advocacy journalism, so it intentionally adopts a non-objective viewpoint. It is important for a website to have readers, but addressing a controversial topic in this way with less than 900 words is just not great writing. I read it, but I didn't come away with anything other than having read a one-sided opinion which clearly was trying to take advantage of a "hot-topic".

There is a recent DmC currently sits at 43090° because it just guarantees hit regardless of the quality of the article. Once bloggers figured it out everyone started writing the same "DMC fans need to shut up about the hair" articles for the past six month. It's just taking advantage of the current hot topic till another game makes it to the top.

@toguns I was trying to make a point regarding recent explosions of "hot" DmC articles, not that this article was about hair. But essentially the same flame baiting/hit-seeking articles repeating the same thing. Because they guarantee hit and attention, and it works.

I saw no mention of the hair in this one though... For the record I prefer DMC4. I loved Dante as this almost godlike figure that is just acting as a safety net for Nero. I liked putting endless hours into the game to get my SSS. I liked Bayonetta even more. Pure Platinuming the whole game on hard was an enjoyable experience for me

This guy is out of his mind. I'm on board with DMC being a good game...but this stuff is out of order, starting with...

Combat- easily the worst in the series. He states that it is easier than ever to achieve an SSS rank and that is the problem. No longer will you have that sense of accomplishment because and hour or two of practice will make you a top DMC performer. I've played the original franchise for years and can't even come close to mastering the game, and that is a good thing.

Setting- The original titles had amazing settings...especially 3 and 4. DMC may have the decent living world thing going on but that's all it has. You get over that gimmick fairly quickly.

The character- is in a game about style but has not. He a vulgar young punk and not a likeable character. His F*** you argument with the succubus is a prime example of why he's so awful as a character, and why NT has failed to fill their game with likeable characters. Monkey, Trip, Nariko, Kai, King Bohan, Pigsy...all likeable characters. Everyone in DMC can die in a fire...

Dante/Vergil dynamic- please...next...

Story- is all NT knows how to do well, and yeah, it's better than the previous DMCs. It's not all convoluted like the typical DMC game. You pretty much get it, while you're usually scratching your head while trying to follow the other DMC's nonsensical storylines.

The meat of DMC has always been the combat and if they would have got that part of it right, more people would be willing to give the reboot a chance despite NT's arrogance, the use of the UE3, 30 fps, chainsmoking douchy early prototype Dante, new condescending asshole Dante, etc.

Your arguments for combat make no sense, the combat still has all the depth of the old games with a much more intelligently crafted control scheme so that you do not have to practice for a month to trick the game into doing what you want.

The static attempt at a gothic or horror setting for 3 and 4 felt completely out of place when you start hacking and slashing at enemies. Limbo in dmc provided a constant sense of chaos that allowed the fighting to make sense.

The character is better in my opinion but I can definitely see how others would prefer the old Dante. I don't get what everyone's obsession is with calling the succubus dialogue objectively bad. It is hilarious to see a demon have to resort to such childish rebellious language.

Still has the depth? You can't target enemies. There's no more twosome time. You can't do the basics move set established a generation ago. The combat is not the same.

There's multiple dodge buttons for no reason at all.

The light/heavy attacks on force you to play their way instead of giving you the freedom to get creative the combat the series is known for. It's the same bullshit from Heavenly Sword really...

The style system is broken in the fact that there is no style system. All of the styles have been bastardized into one meta style which makes you a jackass of trades...master of none.

The combat is competent for a Hack and Slash but not on par with the rest of the franchise or Bayonetta.

We can argue about the character and the setting but there's no arguing the combat. It's dumbed down as admitted by NT and Capcom themselves...

the old dante one liners was great and the combat is better in Devil may cry because you can lock on and have styles like trickster, gunslinger and so on that made the game great

1) No taunt
2) No lock on
3) 30 fps
4) Flawed style meter
5) Been done before gameplay that was made 7 years ago but in 2013 we call it innovation

Actions speak louder than words. Show me a new Mega Man game that isn't a collection of games I played yesteryear. If they can churn out some kind of RE game every other year they can make a new Mega Man entry. It's not like it's known for its deep stories.

If they make the right choices and right kinds of games, the Mega-Man IP could potentially be made into an animated film or streaming series like the success of Mario and Sonic. Surely that thought may have crossed their minds? Or am I being silly? I mean there is a lot more water to go under the bridge for them to even start considering that. But I used to be a big mega-man fan back in the day. I'd love to see it happen.

Just like the guys said . I’ll believe it when I see it . Even the shareholders are asking questions regarding Megaman . I don’t want to sound ludacris but I have a strong conviction that the heads at Capcom are purposely holding the Megaman IP down because of their grudge and spite towards inafune on some deeper Japanese honour code stuff . It’s deeper than we think . You can tell something isn’t right .

And bring back Megaman X. Either regular, command mission or make it a Metroidvania since silksong is so popular.
