Laymen's Review: Mass Effect Trilogy

Just another guy with a retrospective look at my experience with Mass Effect Trilogy and what it meant to me.

I don't use a numbering system really because I find that's an unnecessary tradition that lends nothing to the review itself and isn't relevant but N4G insists...
... why the 9? Absolutely massive and great trilogy but there should have been incentive other than added DLC to make this purchase the one newcomers and current fans make. This seems strictly for collectors and those missing small pieces of the series and must have those gaps filled. There simply should have been some added Trilogy-only features thrown in, is all I'm saying.

I just got this game last week. I haven't been able to play as much as I would like to, but from what I have played, I have fell in deep with this game. it's so fun I couldn't believe it i didn't play it sooner. I'll give this game a 9/10 it would have been 10/10, but it froze on me.

The original Mass Effect has a lot of slowdown and lock up issues with some of its graphical effects - mostly rooting in rocket explosions. In the final battle with Saren, he spams the hell out of rockets with one of his patterns and it spells doom for a lot of Mass Effect players on the Playstation 3, if not all forms of the game, aside from top-end gaming PCs.
I loved the collection, they should have just added more in aside from what was already there.

The trilogy and the books are amazing. Without any doubt, the greatest new franchise to come out this gen. The Mass Effect universe has so much potential to reach Star Wars level. Can't wait to see what Bioware has in store for us next gen.

All the DLC should have been included is all im saying, beings its not, this Trilogy pack is not worthy of anywhere close to a 9, Ive give it a 6 thats it.

Considering the way it was marketed by EA as the "Ultimate" Mass Effect experience, not including the DLC makes that statement less than true, but im not surprised, its EA afterall.

If im a newcomer to this series or a fan , im disappointed in EA's "business" decision to not include the DLC with this Trilogy.

I personally wouldnt purchase this, but that's my opinion, to each his own.

Dude, the repackage of Mass Effect available for all systems comes with the Shadow Broker and Bring Down the Sky DLC, Mass Effect 2 comes with a voucher for the "Cerberus Network" which is just a fancy term for a bundle of all ME2's DLC and Mass Effect 3 comes with a voucher for the Extended Cut, which, admittedly, came for free. Considering that, yes, there should have been Trilogy ONLY features thrown in to entice new players AND current fans, this is a GREAT way for new players to cut their teeth on the series as a whole instead of paying for each piece individually.
If you want a bundle for ME3, you're going to have to wait, just like you have to for every game. Usually about a year after its release.
I purchased this so that way I have every game in physical form, something I only had with ME3. I had a digital copy of ME2 and it was only taking up room in my hard drive so this was a logical step, for me. I'm glad I did.

When logic meets EA it generates anti-matter ..... so try not to apply it in any meaningful way. Entropy is what matters in there !!

The community warned them this would happen but nope they knew better they continued with the live service push the made the art style cartoonish and this is the result

It's always so bizarre when studios announce something super early in development under the suggestion of forming the game to player feedback, and then they push against all feedback heading straight for the cliff while everyone is warning them along the way

US Lawmakers Urge Review Of EA Sale

The Congressional Labor Caucus sent a letter to the FTC warning the debt-financed, largely PIF-owned deal could be bad news for workers

lol ya think? they're sending all that work to the cheaper labor market as soon as possible. and FYI, that labor market has exploded in the last 5-10 years. They have enough people to replace every single job. But honestly, EA is over filled with useless upper management as it is. You could probably trim 25% of their staff with no real loss in production. They aren't gamers, they're business execs. Just look at how many AI related jobs they're already starting to post. Its also hilarious that PIF owns Battle field 6

Wait,

The same congress that attacked Lina Khan when she fought the Microsoft Activision purchase.
The same congress that allowed Disney to buy 90% of Fox
The same congress that allowed Liv Golf to buy the PGA
The same congress that sits back while Paramount tries a hostile takeover despite losing the bid for Warner Bros.

NOW, the suddenly cares about doing what's "right" for works? Yeah, right.

EA now owned by The Saudis and Ubisoft to inevitably be owned by China. In hindsight, once EA and Ubisoft started having their financial woes, they should have pulled a Koei Tecmo/Bandai Namco by merging their operations into one.
