DualShock 3 Dated For US

From Kotaku:

"We have more word from retailer conference Destination PlayStation: the DualShock 3-you know, that DualShock we've been waiting for since the PS3's launch-has gotten a US release date.

Set to launch April 15th for $54.99, it's slated to coincide with the release of GT5 Prologue. Oh yes, feel those engines roar through your controller and make your SIXAXIS-wielding friends envious...like they're just playing a video game or something."

Yesss Finally. Thank you Sony. Now take my money please. I want this to fully enjoy my PS3 gaming experience.

jwatt6692d ago

I really think sony is doing what I thought they would do. Release Home and in-game xmb and the DS3 controller around the time GT prologue comes out. GT comes out april 17th Then about a week later GTA4 comes out, with those 4 things mentioned will create alot of momentum and should push ps3 harware sales.

If somebody is on the fence if they should by a 360 or a ps3 for gta they would probably go with the ps3. You can get Gt prologue, GtA4, and Home around the same time. Not to mention MGS4 will be right around the corner.

MikeGdaGod6691d ago (Edited 6691d ago )

yeah, now all they have to do is patch all the games. i stopped playing some games, like GRAW2, just because i want to finished them with rumble.

all of sony's 1st party games and newer 3rd party games have already been patched. but some big games are missing it like CoD4. they need to get on the devs, because people will be pissed if they go out and buy muliple DS3s and can't use them for their favorite games.

Real Gambler6691d ago

Most people are on a limited budget. Getting new controllers, and great games all at once, is rather expensive for most people. Sure, they have to come out one day, but with 2 great games? And nearly just before summer time?

I'm sure they would have sold well before Christmas, even with all the awesome games that came out then. Nice little gifts. But now?

Sure enough though, if they come out with a PS3 package, with DS3 and one of those two games, that may get some new players on the PS3 side...

okcomputer6691d ago

Most games already have rumble. I've had an imported ds3 since they first released in japan and every one of my ps3 games has had rumble for a while.

MikeGdaGod6691d ago (Edited 6691d ago )

i've had my DS3 since December and like i said, most 1st party games and newer 3rd party games have rumble. but alot of games still don't and some of those are big games.

games i have that haven't been patched: CoD 4, Madden 08, NBA 2K8, Fight Night 3, GRAW 2, and Tekken DR. (i'm not sure about NG:Sigma, still in the plastic)

they've started but some of these really need it already, like CoD4. i know it sounds silly but i won't even play it anymore until they patch it. now that i have rumble i other games, not having it again just doesn't feel right.

i had mines for 2 months now

DJ6692d ago

Which reminds me, I saw a few Dual Shock 3's at Frank & Son's this weekend. $70 each.

jkoz6692d ago

Got mine for $59 say... in December? 0 regrets! Love my DS3!

okcomputer6691d ago

Yea, same here, I picked mine up for $65 when people were out complaining about the import price. I'd say the extra 10 bucks was worth having it 3 months early.

rogimusprime6691d ago

that is a lot of money for a controller...almost as much as a game. They still charge $30 for dual shock 2's in some places. This is getting ridiculous.

w00t(second time)!

I can't wait to pick up two of these babies for my PS3 in less than two months!;)

RadientFlux6692d ago

meh.. unsure if I am going to pick one up or not.

While force-feedback is nice, for $55 dollars I would rather pick up a new game. Espically with my current PS3 controller still working fine.

decapitator6692d ago

Oh you will. It will be hard to know rumble exist and just a few minutes or hours from you and completely ignore it. Rumble for me, puts me right in the center of the action.

okcomputer6691d ago

It seems minor but it makes a difference. Uncharted, motostorm and dmc4 especially benefit from the rumble.

SIX6691d ago

I bought one a few couple months ago and although I feel it's not needed for all games. For games like Warhawk it actually provides a small advantage since you can feel the bullets hit you, therefore you can make a quicker reaction. It's also more solid feeling.

Now if we could only get the PSN cards. C'mon Sony, make it happen.

Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.

They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

solideagle55d ago

they should know that we are OG fans of VIII as it sold truckload as well. not as much as VII or X. I personally didn't like IX but X and VI are my personal fav.

Shadow Hearts 2 covenant is another game I love. I hope one day someone can make remake, I would be delighted

Final Fantasy VIII is great and you are always the first to defend it in the comments

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

DarXyde61d ago

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

Soy62d ago

And then MK1 killed it again.

DivineHand12562d ago (Edited 62d ago )

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
