Its a space "flight" sim where you can transform into a humaniod mech.

When I first heard about it, as a mech fan, I was naturally excited for it, but the more I hear about it the less so.

I mean there is no point for it to transform. Also not found of there being no up or down.

Yeah, you should be able to fly and latch onto a ship to get under its weapons, go inside a big ship to take out its sub-systems, and hide behind debris and asteroids for cover.

Hate to nitpick a game like this when few to on one is doing it, but still, if they're going to do it they need to do it right.
