Inexcusable
Should hire programers who has had a lot of experience with PS3 coding.

vortis4875d ago

They don't want to pay the dollar bills.

Oh, but they still want PS3 gamer's dollar bills.

xPhearR3dx4875d ago

If they really wanted PS3 gamers to pay up they would have just released Dawnguard and Hearthfire then told PS3 gamers to "deal with it" until they fix it.

It's obvious Bethesda learned from their mistake with the release of Skyrim and don't want to have another repeat with Dawnguard or Hearthfire. PS3 gamers can't make up their minds. They bitch when companies release a broken product, so when the company tries to do the right thing and not release further content until it's 100% ready, they bitch because they don't get said content.

Dark_king4875d ago

@You think Sony would let them just release it when it will not work at all.I bet they did try though they seem to have no problems releasing broken software.

mewhy324874d ago

@xPhearR3dx
I agree. If they were just greedy then they'd release the dlc without trying to make sure it worked correctly. Also it would be a really bad reflection on on Bethesda too. I understand that ps3 owners, including myself, are frustrated with this situation but isn't it better to not get the dlc instead of paying for the dlc and then finding that it doesn't work correctly? Of course it is. Then we'd all be pissed off instead of a little frustrated. Good call Bethesda and kudos for admitting that you're having a problems getting it to work. RAM is the problem here and even with the help of Sony (which is helping by the way) it may be more hardware than software and something that can't be helped...just like the cross game chat ps3 hardware problem.

FanboyPunisher4874d ago

Not like this mattered anyway, the DLC isnt great and the price is a complete rip off money grab.

PS3 users should be happy they are forced to save their money, by not buying the dlc trash.

@Dark_king

"You think Sony would let them just release it when it will not work at all."

Sony has released games themselves that didn't work at all at launch. Remember SOCOM Confrontations? You guys make Bethesda out to be the most horrible company in the world. Fact is, their one of the few companies that came out and said they're having problems and trying to work with Sony in order to fix it.

We all know they're having problems, but instead of releasing some BS PR about how it's "coming soon" and they're hard at work to release it. They stated they're having issues knowing the backlash comments they'll get about "needing to learn to code the PS3 better". Instead of always looking at the negative side of things, you should try looking at the positive.

@DaThreats Your trying to tell me a company that's been programming for 26 years has no clue how to work with PlayStation 3? So now what, They hired a Sony team and they still can't confirm or even hint when the DLC is getting released.

So the Sony team can't program there own console now or what?

Listen, this is by far one of the biggest upsets in DLC so far. But blaming a company that are experts in programming is not really an excuse.

Consider that this gen is limited. Even Mahjong games are having problems optimizing the latest Mine Craft DLC that's coming to Xbox. I don't blame the company I blame the hardware.

So in this case, it could possibly be the PS3's problem and not Bethesda's.

Meep4875d ago

Wow Bethesda really messed up this time. Pretty sure everyone knows that Bethesda shafted PS3 Owners with the PS3 version of Skyrim, AND on top of it being a buggy game on PS3 they might not even get Dawnguard DLC. PlayStation owners definitely got the short end of the stick. Personally I think Bethesda needs something to shake them up so they can get their act together. I would say just not to buy the DLC, but Im pretty sure people are gonna hop on it when it comes out.

iamnsuperman4875d ago (Edited 4875d ago )

"and admitted the introduction of Hearthfire could make things harder, not easier" this is why you do not concentrate on multiple project if you can't even do one right.

This is poor from a developer. The should be ashamed of themselves. First they put out a really buggy product and now they can't even manage their time (really bad time management skills here) to release DLC across the platforms at a satisfactory rate.

Hmm, i think Bethesda should forget the Playstation.
Sony's awful Hardware design isn't making things easy for Bethesda or many other developers that have stated in the past they have problems with developing for the PS3.

Before i owned a PC, Skyrim on the 360 was a smooth experience, almost as smooth as the PC version. Bethesda should stick to the two platforms and forget about the ONE platform holding them back.

The PS3.

Dark_king4875d ago

Its not the platform that's holding them back its there programming skills.They just don't seem to be able to use the cell very well at all.

An the game has major bugs on every platform.

theEx1Le4874d ago

Always has been a problem with bethesda's engine the Ps3. Though aside from the missing content i was always led to believe that oblivion was far superior on the Ps3. Guess that was a fluke. But I do agree that this late on in the console cycle them having having problems like this is amateurish. Really knocking themselves down a few pegs in my book.

Dreamer094874d ago

Major bugs on every platform?
Are you talking about the over active trolls on the Bethesda forums that make out "Skyrim" to be one big mess.
You probably are.
I never really had any major bugs on the 360 version originally. The odd crash here and there but NOTHING MAJOR :)
I had more trouble with Mass Effect 3.
Each to their own.

ScubbaSteve4874d ago

@Dreamer09

"Major bugs on every platform?"

Yes. Bethesda is known for their spaghetti programing they're just lucky enough to have a modding community that is willing to fix all of it.

madeinLeeds4874d ago

Funny how other devs get excellent results from PS3, a good workman never blames his tools!!

DudeJets4875d ago

Bethesda one of the worst programmer's this generation.

That's ridiculous, lol. I'm waiting for the guy that says its too cpu-intensive for the Switch 2. This game is old af and has been released like 17 times.
