Why Fifa 13 is Completely Different - MMGN

MMGN: Fifa 13 is a complete overhaul of what we’ve come to expect from soccer games. It will require an entirely new thought process.

i have to try it to believe it cause FIFA12 pissed me off online. AI is so retarded, many times players decide for themselves what they want to do, when you tacle a player the ball moves 10feet away and no way to take the ball from a player standing nearby the line, it goes over the line automatically cause the collision engine is a disaster.
Many times also the player pushes the ball out of the line while i'm holding the opposite direction. The game is so boring 99% of the time i play against Barca or Madrid cause Ronaldo and Messi are extraterrestrials in this game and the only thing they do is run.

On top of that the menus are laggy, ugly and i have to accept all kinds of useless messages before the game starts and sometimes i have to restart the game because i have freezes between 2 matches and i have to reaccept everything again..

This is just what came to my mind right now, but there is much more and i'm not buying FIFA13 before i'm sure all of this is solved. And screw EA and their online pass!

@theEx1Le: man that 360 controller !! i prefer to exit gaming than use it. and i have tried the game on 360 it's same shit..

theEx1Le5000d ago

Would this be the Ps3 version perhaps? I have noticed the 360 version to be far better for the connection issues and the laggy menus. I hate the 360 controller for FIFA though so that the drawback.

JKelloggs5000d ago

The PS3 version is laggy for me too. But I've noticed that the Xbox version has more faults with the impact engine, than the PS3 version.

The main reason I don't like the 360 for football games is because I use the d-pad, which is far better on the PS3 controller. Other than that though I hated FIFA 12 after playing FIFA 10 and 11 to death. When devs change their gameplay mechanics its naturally going to piss some fans off, I'm one of them. Loving the PES 13 demo, so will probably go back to PES for the first time in years. I want to play the FIFA 13 demo before I decide but from what I have seen nothing much has changed. PES 13 + option file will be awesome this year!

pompombrum5000d ago

Reading what was said, I kind of agree but it's not a complete overhaul. The differences are still subtle and won't require much work to adjust for experienced players. I actually found the adjustment between fifa 12 and the demo to be a lot easier than previous fifas.

Mocat5000d ago

Played the demo, laughed my ass of put fifa 12 back started playing cause i did not see a singel improvement gameplay wise your team mates are still retards goal keeper still cant hold a finnesse shot, referees are an improvement but overall i woudn't waste money on this game.

(skillgames-gtfo with that st*t)

abzdine5000d ago (Edited 5000d ago )

Oh yeah i forgot the referee decision in my first post. they never whistle when they have to. The players fall like crazy nothing happens. Other times they whistle for no reason. and the finesse shot i dont know what's wrong witht he keepers everytime.

looking forward to DL this demo. But i'm not buying this game before it goes half price, just like i did with the 11 and 12.

For me they should just release a patch every year to arrange the teams with the transfert market and release a new game every 2 years so they have time to work on it. but again when they only think about screwing people this is what happens.

ProjectVulcan5000d ago (Edited 5000d ago )

I think it is great, it is ever so fluid and the first touch mixes it up a lot too.

I still have frustrations like sometimes the goalkeepers seem like supermen and even great players never seem to be able to shoot on target or aim for a corner. Sometimes you can get blatantly fouled (as in barged off the ball without the opponent touching the ball) and there is no whistle and they get in to score- extremely frustrating.

The AI is a bit thick still, but aint it always? Yes your players make more runs but not into areas you want them to, and your defence can often be so static and hopeless against through balls when you are screaming for your guy to track a runner he just stands there.

I think it is another improvement over FIFA 12. But just a teeny bit. It'll still be great online.

I hope for next gen to bring advances in AI, because that is what will elevate these football games to the next level.

I didn´t notice too much difference from FIFA 12, too. First Touch it´s really the only addition . The rest looks the same. I want a soccer game, and now I´m still in doubt of what pick up: FIFA 13 or PES 13.

asmith23064999d ago

I'm delighted to say that its most likely going to be PES again for me for the first time in many years :) the PES 13 demo is awesome.

nix4999d ago

after playing FIFA12 all this year... demo of PES13 is a blessing.. it feels so beautiful to play that game. thank god i ain't the only one.

JAM_brz4999d ago

For sure guys, I always was a big fan of PES. And Konami is worried about FIFA being the best in the past years. And they´re making major improvements, while EA is stationary with FIFA.

As a big PES fan, I´m liking that. :-)

And probably should get PES.

IronFistChinMi4999d ago

Not much of an improvement to warrant a full price purchase from me. I like the sound of the career mode changes and the rest, but when it comes down to the action on the pitch, it felt little different to FIFA 12.

Playing as Arsenal, Gervinho regularly mis-controlled the ball. As an Arsenal season ticket holder, I can tell you he doesn't have issues taking a ball under control. Poor decision making in the final 3rd, yes.

The PES demo on the other hand, impressed me much more. Unbelievably fun and a definite improvement over the last few years. I'll be picking that up day one instead and wait for FIFA 13 to drop in price. Never thought I'd say that until next-gen!

Not all outdated football games are worthless

Games Asylum: "Outdated football games are a common sight when scouring jumble sales, car boots and charity shops for bargain price video games. Entire shelves filled with decade-old FIFA and PES games spread across a dozen formats. Often they end up in bargain bins, sitting alongside unwanted celebrity fitness DVDs and seemingly random TV show box sets. But here’s the thing. Not all football games gathering dust in the likes of Oxfam are in fact worthless."

Now Sonic Boom & Bayonetta 2 are being outsold by FIFA 13 Wii U

Just who is buying FIFA 13 on Wii U? We may never know, but there are more people buying that than there are Bayonetta 2 and Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric.

Sonic Boom? welp, sucks to suck.
But, Bayonetta is a real shame

wonderfulmonkeyman4189d ago

Sonic Boom is riding off the popularity of the TV show; it's a bad game.

And as for FIFA?
Well, guess that goes to show that there's a lot of older gamers on Wii U that wanted FIFA, then; sports games generally do out-sell action games, and Platinum isn't known for large sales in the first place.

I'm not worried for Bayonetta. It'll hit that 1M mark by the middle of next year, surely, at its current pace.

are seriously trying to downplay Bayonetta 2 with sales
