FIFA 13 dev can’t see ‘cross play between formats happening’

FIFA 13 has a number of cross format profile features that allow players to interact – be they on PS3, Xbox 360, PC and more – but actually being able to play matches across those formats in future is wishful thinking, FIFA’s executive producer has said.

Even if they could do this, EA Sports probably wouldn't. At the moment they could have easily implemented cross play between the PS3 and Vita. Taking your pro with you on the go with your career. Playing Virtual Pro Clubs on your vita, while your friends join you at home on their PS3's.

Surly it could be possible to play a Windows Live player against an Xbox live player. I can understand pitching Sony against Microsoft not happening.

I've said before that If EA released a PSVita and Ps3 copy within the same pack, for around £60 (£30 PG), and add these features it could attract more people with prospect of playing anywhere and connecting via wi fi when out and about. Of course this is probably just as much sony's responsibility as it is EA's

Same for the xbox and pc versions without the portability (unless your that dedicated with a laptop)

would be really nice to get this cross play stuff to become more of a norm for a lot of games. I would definitely be getting more PS3/Vita packages of games as opposed to 360 only games due to the better overall value and ability to pick up and play whenever and wherever I want.

Cross could happen although issues would arise from patches, hopefully something Sony can get to grips with next Gen. That's probably the biggest hurdle. Besides the fact that Sony and Microsoft would never allow it (prob more Microsoft than Sony just saying), sans ffxi.

Not all outdated football games are worthless

Games Asylum: "Outdated football games are a common sight when scouring jumble sales, car boots and charity shops for bargain price video games. Entire shelves filled with decade-old FIFA and PES games spread across a dozen formats. Often they end up in bargain bins, sitting alongside unwanted celebrity fitness DVDs and seemingly random TV show box sets. But here’s the thing. Not all football games gathering dust in the likes of Oxfam are in fact worthless."

Just who is buying FIFA 13 on Wii U? We may never know, but there are more people buying that than there are Bayonetta 2 and Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric.

Sonic Boom? welp, sucks to suck.
But, Bayonetta is a real shame

wonderfulmonkeyman4205d ago

Sonic Boom is riding off the popularity of the TV show; it's a bad game.

And as for FIFA?
Well, guess that goes to show that there's a lot of older gamers on Wii U that wanted FIFA, then; sports games generally do out-sell action games, and Platinum isn't known for large sales in the first place.

I'm not worried for Bayonetta. It'll hit that 1M mark by the middle of next year, surely, at its current pace.
