NCsoft and ArenaNet’s massively multiplayer online game (MMO) Guild Wars 2 is available at retail from today. The original Guild Wars was published in 2005 and sold more than seven million units. NCsoft hope to expand this success with Guild Wars 2 which has seen great success in its early beta tests.

Too bad $60 will turn into a $100+ easily when you start needing bag and bank slots. I guess thats the price of "free to play" though.

Im level 32 right now haven't even come close to needing more room in bags or additional space. You can click a button to deposit all your crafting mat's into your bank from anywhere in the world as many times as you want and it has its own separate tab for them as well so it doesn't clog up your main bank tab. As far as the chests that drop that you need keys for I've been 100% maps and getting a key every time for doing so as well as getting them randomly from the ending of some hidden jumping puzzles in chests ( I currently have 6 keys). Maybe at like lvl 80 when I actually care about the way my dude looks and want to hoard outfits then I'll probably say yes I need more room but for now, no problems on my end.

Am I going to be disappointed by this if I were to pick it up?

Ever since WoW, i've played Star Wars: The Old Republic, LOTRO, and several other MMOs and they all bored me.

Someone convince me that this will be different!

The size, quality and amount of art/attention to detail in every area of every map is ridiculous and worth the $60 alone to explore it all honestly. It's not like other mmo's leveling wise as you can do whatever you want farm mats/craft/pvp/discover areas of the map that all give you roughly the same xp as killing enemies. When you're exploring you'll stumble upon dynamic quests that you can choose to do or ignore but most are worth it for the xp/money/karma (used to buy special items from vendors). There's an entire map dedicated to PvP where 3 servers fight for 2 weeks 24/7 as well as structured pvp. For $60 you're not going to find many games with the amount of content this one has and even fewer quality wise. Biggest thing is no monthly payment so once you buy it you can play it forever. Probably one of my favorite games to come out since demon's souls.

I want to so bad but am going to Israel around the time they're going to be performing in TX so it's a no go for me. Definitely looking forward to thee new album though. Mike Patton is probably one of the most amazing less-known music talents that people still ask "who's that" when I bring his name up....Not to mention he did all the zombie sounds for the Left 4 dead series. Dudes vocal range/intensity is unmatched.

Tried it played it canceled pre order the game was OK not terrible not fantastic nothing overly new no real incentives in the game I see people burning out end game at a reasonable speed. 9/10 mmo's get launched and everyone bangs on about them, those same people 1-2 months later than stag it off..

Felt very similar to gw1 and realistically its ncsoft so there tossers anyway.

I played it a little years ago. It was fun but I had children after I started playing and gave it up so my wife wouldn’t hate me. I got to 50 and then hung it up

Arenanet is doing smthn wrong with marketing, I never once seen an ad for a gw2 expansion and always hear it like this once an expac is already released. Not that I would play it cause I'm a gw1 purist haha
