Video Game Collecting Vs. Hoarding

"With shows like Hoarders and Hoarding: Buried Alive rising in popularity, most of us begin wondering when collecting stops and hoarding begins. After all, some gamers collect mounds and mounds of video games that rarely obstruct paths like a pile of trash blocking the kitchen."

collecting is one of a type, even if it's the same game that has several types.

Hoarding is more than one of the same type of game.

Or so I thought...?

Hoarding is more like having stuff just to have it. Games you don't care about, games that suck, games you'll never play. The condition doesn't matter, you just want the game.

That's hoarding.

If you only collect a certain type of game, or if you collect them in mint condition- even if you never intend to play them- then you're a collector.

I don't think there are many- if ANY- video game hoarders out there, because gaming is such an entertainment-based hobby, and few people collect games they don't like, or games in poor condition.

I love how there are matching ghost colors for the controllers. I hope they add a Purple "Sue" controller for the inevitable Ms PacMan double feature cart they are working on. It would seem a crime not to.

That shit looks amazing. If I ever had a "retro room" in my house, this would be 100% needed. The best Atari 2600 design I've ever seen imo, besides the original of course lol

It looks cool, kind of ironic though considering that the port of Pacman for Atari 2600 is notoriously bad.
