X360 has 70 million console sales locked in before the end of the year and it should reach 75 million console sales before the end of its effective life.

Comparing XBox to XBox 360 shows how well MS has performed this generation despite the high rates of hardware failure of the X360 and the lack of X360 exclusive games.

PS3 should be compared to PS2 and well we see that its market share has fallen from 70% to below 30% this generation. The competition is Wii and X360 have been a lot better than the Gamecube and the XBox that sold less than 50 million systems between them.

So what the PS3 may end up selling 80 million and a few million more sales than the X360? It will have fallen well short of the PS2s staggering total of 140 million+ console sales.

All three systems: Wii, X360 and POS3 are well down this sales weeks in comparison to the same sales week of 12 months ago.

Wii has sold more than four time the measly tally of the GameCube ~22 million.
X360 has almost sold 3 times the tally of the XBox ~25 million.
PS3 has not yet sold half the tally of the PS2.

Ninty and MS are both up in regards to sales this generation compared to last generation. Sony are well down this generation in comparison to last generation.

when vita spreads its wings & takes flight, 3DS fans will see the difference in quality hardware wise.. The games are coming & if sony makes an eastern heavy hitter, japan will be all over it.. 3DS is selling like hotcakes & i dont blame the ppl for buying it cuz of the great amount of 1st party titles.. But when u look at the sales charts of 3rd party games, there isnt any that even broke a million out of 17+ million systems.. except monster hunter & the west didnt even get that.. I bought one in hopes of a 2D sprite based castlvania & now that dream is dead cuz mistwalker is doing it.. My vita is my primary handheld & is at least 2 generations ahead of the 3D DS

the odd point that baffles me is how dragons dogma's sales numbers was mysteriously left out for the xbox360 but was mentioned for the ps3. multi-platform games always do better on the xbox360

the only sure fire way to boast sells is to drop the prices. THe wii should be like 75 bucks and the vita, ps3, and xbox360 should all lower there prices.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
