"Storyline wise, it makes zero sense that Miranda’s father was enough of a pervert to spend so much time giving her such a perfect ass but wasn’t enough of a pervert to also make her bisexual. And what about Jack? Don’t even try to tell me she’s only interested in dudes."

LOL

Yea I prefer the original. I liked 2, but don't see what all the fuss was about. And I Never play RPGs and prefer action shooters. So that is a very odd preference for me.

the article starts: "this will be my last mass effect article." i give him several months. either when the extended ending comes out or ME4

Phegan5102d ago

It makes more sense if you read all his stuff regarding the Mass Effect 3 ending. It wasn't so much as "I am not going to write about Mass Effect because I hate it" I think it's more, "I have wrote way to many Mass Effect articles lately, and I need to stop" sort of thing.

At this point, it's become a running joke because he starts all of his Mass Effect articles that way now.

"Despite my choices in the first game, the story isn’t particularly different from what I saw as a paragon"

This isn't news, the choices in Mass Effect have always been an illusion. Sure you can make different choices but few make any significant difference. I've played through all of them as both Paragon and Renegade and hardly anything important changes.

That's why I wasn't at all upset about the ending of Mass Effect 3, it's the sort of thing I was expecting.

I've played through ME1 and ME2 a few times and aside from who lives and who dies, it is essentially the same. Your actions do matter to an extent, but there is a single path that you will go down regardless of what actions you take.
That being said, the franchise as a whole is great.

I'm really hoping Bioware puts the campaign DLC out soon...You have to wonder what they would have done (DLC-wise) had the fans not disagreed at the level they did.

Mass Effect - N7 DAY 2025

Bioware writes: "Like you, we’ve heard the rumors lately. You’ve made it clear you care deeply about what’s next. So let’s start by setting the record straight: the next Mass Effect game is in development, and EA and BioWare remain committed to telling more stories in this universe."

I expected nothing and I'm still disappointed

Like with Fallout, it's starting to feel studios are using TV / Film adaptations when they have no game info to talk about.

toxic-inferno200d ago

I feel the same way.

I mean, how difficult would it be for them to release SOMETHING of substance? Another short trailer? A couple of proper hints? A short story set during the original trilogy, but focused on fringe characters?

Hopefully they're working so hard on the game that they don't have time. But still, with every passing year and so little to show, the franchise will be slipping further and further from people's minds.

Profchaos200d ago

Yeah agree it's almost a cop out since Dev times are 5 to 10 years just throw out a few seasons instead you get them done in a year

jznrpg200d ago

I still haven’t beat Andromeda. I am waiting for a lull of good games in my backlog

P_Bomb200d ago

So the TV show will take place after the OG trilogy. I wonder which ending they’ll use?

Rebel_Scum200d ago

Should’ve just posted a picture of an Elcor saying “regretfully, we have nothing to share.”

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast534d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine534d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast533d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman533d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast533d ago

Liam lol I can't stand that dude.

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan782d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave781d ago (Edited 781d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
