While I've been out of the development field for a while now, this will certainly be an interesting read.

Bubbles for you both.

Solbadguy6721d ago

EA should be jumping all over this as well as a few others.

Infinity Ward
Incognito
Insomniac
Naughty Dog

all used elf magic to make it work, not the hardware.

Wil I gave you a agree and bubble, seems some don't want to see that....

I have saved the website, I will definitely read it sometime

This doesn't seem like it'd be of much use unless you have a devkit.

The Cell processor lectures and papers, at least.

drewdrakes6721d ago

You can use this knowledge with linux installed on your PS3. There are more tutorials on the net about that as well. I learned how to move memory from main RAM to an SPE's local store in a few minutes. As well as how to create a thread and apply an SPE to do the task.

You don't need a devkit to program on the PS3, you just won't be able to use the RSX. All you need to do is install linux and download the IBM compiler for the Cell, and you get to use the main processor and 6 SPUs.

Im starting to read this, it seems okay for now, i hope it's this easy further on...

Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.

They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

solideagle42d ago

they should know that we are OG fans of VIII as it sold truckload as well. not as much as VII or X. I personally didn't like IX but X and VI are my personal fav.

Shadow Hearts 2 covenant is another game I love. I hope one day someone can make remake, I would be delighted

Final Fantasy VIII is great and you are always the first to defend it in the comments

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

DarXyde49d ago

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
