Following the blowout success of the collaboration between Crystal Dynamics and Aspyr Media last year with Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered, Crystal Dynamics has continued the trend with the final chapter in the legendary franchise: Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered. WTMG's Leo Faria: "As obvious as it may sound, Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered is the kind of re-release that will feel like a godsend to fans of the franchise (again, if they decide to ignore the mess caused by Ascendance), but one that won’t be a mandatory playthrough for those who aren’t well-versed in the franchise’s sizeable lore. It’s a competent, safe remaster, one that doesn’t impress, but rarely annoys. Make sure to play all other games preceding it before committing to a purchase; as the conclusion to a series that lives and dies by its story, it’s still an impressive tale to witness, but make sure to do your homework before jumping into it."

Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered fixes the original camera issues and adds great navigation tools, though the 2003 combat remains repetitive.

"Who would have thought that we’d ever see the Legacy of Kain series again? Well, after last year’s Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered, it looks like the franchise may be back! Potentially, but we’ll have to wait and see, as the latest game, Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered, is another remaster." Mike @ Thumb Culture
