When I saw there was a 60fps patch note after buying it for Switch and playing maybe 7 hours, I stopped. I paid for the upgrade, and am glad I did, BUT it does need some work to make it as good as it should be, with paid DLC! Load times are much better on the Switch 2 version! Definitely an improvement over the OG Wii U times and the OG Switch.

If you like RPGS, and want to explore a massive open world, that is rewarding and now runs the way it should (60FPS) this could be a fantastic game for you! The upgrade to dynamic 4K could use some work, but it still looks far better than the OG Wii U Release. I hope there is a patch that addresses the 4K.

Just a heads up, until you progress to about chapter 4, it's a learning curve. Also, Skells are fantastic, but you have to put time into the game to 'earn' one. Once you do, it really opens up the game.

Glad it got a Switch 2 Update, but a little more polish would be great! For $5 it's worth upgrading, IMO just for 60fps. I loved the game though. So...

DF stated that the update is basically a patched 60fps but everything else is kinda botched at least with the first version. Unsold me on buying it. Might look at it again if the quality takes a big jump. Paying for a bad update in no bueno.

Just started playing this game. I’ll pay for the update once everything gets fixed. Maybe.

Another botched job for a Switch 2 game. Sigh!

Look, we get it! You don't like Switch, and certainly doubt you even own one! X is a fantastic game, and the patch locks in 60fps! The graphics are dynamic 4K, and look good! For someone who hasn't even played the Switch 2 games you bash, you always have something negative to say!

Seriously, 90% of your comments are negative!

"Upgrade Is Good But Needs Work"

yeah...those work should have been done BEFORE selling it. the game was originally a Wii U game for god sake, they've had so much time to "work" on it, but they didn't. you know why? Because this is the version they INTENDED to deliver from the very beginning! minimum effort, maximum profit! it's the Nintendo way

Nintendo is making a bunch of announcements for the Switch 2 lately. AC Shadows, Skyrim, and Subnautica updates. And now, one of my most anticipated Switch 2 editions has shadow dropped.

I immediately purchase the Switch 1 edition for $30!!!

Nyxus15d ago

Hopefully Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and 3 are to follow!

repsahj15d ago (Edited 15d ago )

Yes please!!! I would have liked a free update, but the $5 fee for the upgrade is totally fine by me.

Neonridr14d ago

it's $5 for people complaining about the price.

Vits14d ago

I mean, if any series deserves a free upgrade from Nintendo, it is Xenoblade. Those games run pretty badly on the original hardware. We are talking sub 480p and sub 30 fps, hell, this is exactly the type of game that makes people defend Switch emulation so much, because until now it was the only way, short of a jailbroken and overclocked Switch, to run them decently.

That said, 5 dollars is not terrible.

I’ve never played a Xenoblade game before. Is this a more westernised RPG or the more standard, emo drivel affair?

repsahj14d ago (Edited 14d ago )

I'm not sure if you'll like it, but I'm a fan of the Final Fantasy and Tales series when I played XC2 for the first time on Switch 1, and I was immediately hooked by the beautiful world, likeable characters, and awesome battle system. I liked it even more than Tales of Arise on PS5. Arise was a bit more linear compared to the previous Tales games, but still a great game though.

Love this game, and can't wait to jump in a Skell in 4K 60FPS!

One of my favorite games ever. Now, it looks and plays better. That music is just the best.

Best Remaster of 2025

VGChartz's Evan Norris: "A lot of video game enthusiasts complain about remasters, but I think they're missing the forest for the trees. The video game industry sees thousands upon thousands of games released each and every year; who cares if a handful are remasters of old games? If anything, they're a net positive. They shine a spotlight on underplayed games of yesteryear or bring old classics to the attention of a brand new generation. That's certainly the case with this year's shortlist, which includes a graphical overhaul of the legendary action-RPG The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion; an expanded remaster of fan-favorite Final Fantasy Tactics; a return visit to 1930s Tokyo in Raidou Remastered; and a second chance at stardom for one of the very finest WiiU games, Xenoblade Chronicles X."
