Ubislop strikes again, a game that many were waiting for now getting cancelled. A simple 1:1 remake like Spyro Reignited Trilogy or the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy would've been enough to satisfy people that wanted it.

I said this was probably the case, given the complete lack of presence since the news of restarting the project a while ago. They put out articles rating it and claiming it was "releasing soon" only for this to happen.

Surprised Splinter Cell wasn't among the 6 canceled projects, but that's likely also a matter of time.

But Ubishit can keep making the same game over and over which is Assassin's Creed. Far Cry at least took a break but that game needs to be put on the back burner for longer. We needed this game and also Beyond Good and Evil 2. I think it would be better if Ubishit sell off what they have and leave the industry,

What ever happened to beyond good and evil. Didn't they do a bit reveal and people crying on stage like 9 years ago.

That is why you should never rely on anything coming out before it is out or at least months before release. PoP SoT Remake had troubled development and first reveal wasn't received well. Combine that with Ubisoft not doing that well financially, regardless of what they say, and this cancellation makes a lot of sense. Since not only they needed to make it good, they also needed to fix reputation damage.

Beyond Good & Evil, as much as it pains me to say it, also is likely to get cancelled, it had even more troubled development and multiple restarts, so even what little they have shown isn't anymore up to date. So this one also is pretty high on chances to get cancelled. There is good chance it wouldn't be BG&E we were hoping for, likely it would focus on typical Ubisoft open world formula V3 or whatever number we are currently at. Which is not what BG&E is or why we liked original. But nevertheless I am pretty sure they are considering cancellation.

Skull & Bones only got pass and release because it is online and they were counting on whales. Plus I think they took some investments they couldn't return. So something had to get out. Even if it got humiliated by both, their own Assassin's Creed Black Flag and Sea of Thieves. But since PoP SoT and BG&E aren't multiplayer titles, they are way less likely to push them equally hard

Yeeeesh, they got that investment from TenCent not a moment too soon, huh? After all the other issues they've had, to cancel and delay this many projects atop that is ineptitude of the highest order. If everything else hasn't proved it already, this certainly shows that the Guillemot's are simply incapable of running that company.

They've managed to somehow be *worse* than I thought they were, and I already thought they were about as big a mess as a company their size could be. So many publishers are showing increased ineptitude every year to the point I have to assume we're seeing the model they abused for so long finally breaking down. If we don't see multiple massive publisher implosions over the next few years then I question if we'll ever get the reset we truly need to see in this industry for it to thrive again.

How hard is it to make a remake and that's easy money. They should have remade all the PS2 POP games. Easy development and sales

I'm quite sure there's no Rayman, Splinter Cell & the overdue Beyond Good & Evil 2 releasing as well. Just more Assassin's Creed games will be releasing.

This is baffling, this must have been practically complete. Given ESRB ratings and the timeline they repeatedly gave for it's release. Cos it restarted and took so long I reckon it's cheaper to make it a tax write off than to release

I actually think this is good news. Maybe not the canceled games. But all the delays and restructuring of Ubisoft is positive. They need to face the realty and move closer together. It sounds like what is happening is just that.

We have witnessed shadow drops before, so if we are expecting them, the impact will be greatly diminished. Its possible that the shadow drop rumors, in conjunction to the game’s possible cancellation could be a red herring to throw us off. Buttttt….. I think they cancelled it. RIP

As someone who loved Sands of Time, I'm not bothered by this for the simple fact that I wasn't going to buy it anyway.

Not because it's not interesting (it was), but I'm not supporting Ubisoft. I even really liked The 2008 Prince of Persia, but that was the last straw for me because they locked the true ending behind a paywall and I'm a petty, unforgiving bitch.

Welp there goes 1 of the very FEW games I was looking forward to from Ubisoft. Next up for cancellation: Black Flag Resynced and Splinter Cell Remake.

Very crazy times we're living in. There was once upon a time where Ubisoft was such a powerful entity, that when EA tried doing a hostile takeover of the company, it took the French Government stepping in and intervening.

Now fast-forward a little over twenty years later, one company (EA) is owned by The Saudis and the other (Ubisoft) is slowly being gobbled up by China.

I haven't bought a Ubisoft game since the PS3 era and I suppose it's going to stay that way, lol
