Can we remove Herman Hulst. Nothing good has come since he’s been in position. He’s also pushing that live service Horizon garbage no one ask for.

hduce53d ago

This is a bigger problem than just Herman Hulst. The industry itself is starting to collapse on itself.

Cacabunga53d ago

The stupid and brain dead Covid restrictions started that downfall by killing the excitement after shutting down the main exhibitions.

Management is the next thing PlayStation has been extremely unlucky with this gen. I don’t see them turn the tides over with the extreme arrogance they have been showing.

franwex53d ago

PlayStation is the most profitable its ever being, so I doubt he’s going anywhere. All related to a cut of micro transactions of Fortnite, GTA, BS Battlepasses, etc. He’s just at the right time and coasting it.

Lightning7753d ago

You're saying they rather choose profits while the fans feel left out? wolverine and Intergalactic I'm. Looking forward to but at this rate it's hard to look forward to the future of PS6.

Agent7553d ago

But game sales are at an all-time low.

Sony hasn’t had a mobile phone since the Ericsson iirc

1Victor53d ago

I know about the phone line by mobile I mean the gaming side not the phone side 🤷🏿 I thought it would be obvious

Wrong.

Copy paste from 5 seconds of googling:

"As of early 2026, the latest flagship mobile phone launched by Sony is the Xperia 1 VII, announced on May 13, 2025. It features the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, advanced AI camera tools ("AI Camerawork"), a 6.5-inch 4K OLED screen, and maintains the 3.5mm audio jack.

Flagship: The Sony Xperia 1 VII continues to focus on pro-level photography and audio, featuring a 48MP main sensor, 2x optical zoom, and 85mm-170mm telephoto lens.

Future Leaks: Reports from early April 2026 suggest leaks of an upcoming Xperia 1 VIII with a potential redesigned square camera layout."

My aching head. Sony needs to think about how bad this will impact game development. This won't do them any favors.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

dveio25d ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing25d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9225d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit25d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing25d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9225d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse

To be fair, there are also human made games that release and lack any fun at all either.

jznrpg28d ago

But all of the great games have been made by humans

jwillj2k428d ago

One is by choice, the other is a feature.

PRIMORDUS28d ago

Guild Wars 2 been playing for 14yrs, 1st beta. This is just one company I support, Arenanet and NCSoft, even though I torrent, there are a few PC companies I will buy from. "PlayStation’s Horizon MMO spin-off, Horizon Steel Frontiers." I feel this will be good, NCSoft is a good developer/publisher.

CrimsonWing6927d ago

It’s a tool. Use it elevate things and get it done faster. I’m sorry but not every game made by humans is good. If this can help things, then I fully embrace it.
