"We don't use it to create any assets that will be in the game," says Owlcat, developer of Mass Effecty game The Expanse: Osiris Reborn. But where is the line?

In The Expanse: Osiris Reborn, this is the world where your character and their identical twin, J, were born. Seeking a better and simpler life, you both joined Pinkwater Security as mercenaries, but you couldn’t possibly have imagined that you would end up witnessing a massacre of thousands of innocent people on Eros station, the tragic deaths of your friends and colleagues, and that you would be forced to hijack an enemy’s experimental spaceship, making yourself a target for their vengeance.

Alessio Palumbo writes: "At Gamescom 2025, we checked out a hands-off mission of The Expanse: Osiris Reborn and talked to the developers from Owlcat Games."

The Expanse: Osiris Reborn is coming soon, promising a space RPG inspired by Mass Effect and Baldur’s Gate 3, where every choice truly matters.
"Squadron 42 Can Wait." I mean, it's not like anyone has a choice in the matter, yeah? As for The Expanse? How about we just wait before getting excited about PR talk?

I feel like by the time this comes out the tools will have progressed enough to wear some indie developer will release the same thing 😬
They are using it try out different scenarios and as a placeholder. That’s smart use of ai and no one needs to be replaced.
So what...if it is a good game, then it is a good use.
news flash, most major game engines aggressively incorporate AI, so I guess bash a majority of the games being released? just another witch hunt from the AI brigade to get another game lower sales and scores
