This marks the first time in this decade when Call of Duty has consecutively failed to reach our shortlist. Regardless of its popularity, that sends a clear signal as to what these nominees – ranging from AAA to indie – bring to the table. And given the impressive vote share between them (none eclipsing 35%), it's safe to say shooter fans got their fill last year. Without further ado, here are the nominees…"

ARC Raiders has lost approximately 80% of its Steam concurrent player base since its peak earlier in the year.
I remember when it launched “it’s blowing away call of duty” said gamers with disdain for the old fps staple.
And I said “give it time and let’s see”.
We’ve now had time.
Not establishing an opinion here, just a realist that knows a good launch doesn’t necessarily equal success and longevity. Love or hate call of duty (pretty burned out on it personally) but it’s a staple now - like butter on toast or cheese on pizza. It’s the “coca cola” of video games because even non gamers know about it. That’s pretty hard to topple and takes exponentially more work and luck that COD just doesn’t have to do now (for good or bad).
I wish arc much success tho
people are so obsessed with player counts, my god!
Call of Duty only has 7% of their peak. So what.
