There is precious little to enjoy about Yakuza Kiwami 3. From problematic casting to combat that feels near mindless compared to the series’ usual output, incredibly dull side content to story changes that seem to actively disdain the work of the original writers, Yakuza Kiwami 3 lacks charm, heart, and a clear direction, resulting in a new low point for the venerable series.

A three-episode live-action adaptation of the first two Yakuza video games will debut Tuesday, March 17 exclusively IGN. Each episode is about an hour long and will stream on IGN.com and IGN’s YouTube channel.

Kiwami 3 is a complicated homecoming; while the Dragon Engine overhaul finally fixes the original's sluggish combat, it sacrifices a wealth of legacy side content in the process.

Famitsu has published its estimated physical game software data for Japan for the week of February 9, 2026 to February 15, 2026.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties was the highest selling new release of the week, opening at 58,171 units on PlayStation 5, 19,845 units on PlayStation 4, and 15,988 units on Switch 2 for an opening week total of 94,004 retail copies sold.
The second i saw the words "problematic casting " i knew this would be worthless
Reviewers have no standards no and fun part they gave to the pirate one 88/100.
20/100 is literally an broken game score that only maybe has good graphic or sound.
I'm glad this trash of a game is getting what it deserves. So good.
How do you mess up a remake? The content is already there just remake it with better graphics and call it a day
The guy who really pushed for this series and made sure it succeeded has left and formed his own studio. I am sure he took a lot of the original talent with him. Gang of dragon.
Wow that's a bit harsh this guys still butt hurt of Yong voicing Kiryu just switch to Japanese if it bothers you that much.
The game is at least an 8 imo even in English
