VR gaming took a very public hit early this year with massive layoffs at Meta, but while it got knocked down it's certainly not out.

Skeldal Immersive is set to launch its narrative simulation Actors as an Early Access title for Meta Quest this April.

VR shooter Forefront has left Early Access on Meta Quest and SteamVR, rolling out a major content update for the launch.

New Folder Games has launched a new multiplayer update for its incredibly popular VR game, I Am Cat, on Meta Quest.
It’s clear that vr will never reach the ubiquity consoles have enjoyed. It’s been this way for years now - and every year we get articles claiming vr isn’t dead, despite tons of articles having to say it’s not dead…. Every year. Maybe it’s not dead, but it’s not at all thriving and never really has. I shelved my Rift headset years ago. Bought an oculus, now it’s dusted. Trusted Sony would bring it home with psvr2 and that shit sits in my closet untouched for 2 years now. Nothing even remotely compelling since gt7 support to justify the purchase.
I want 3d games to come back. I thought that those types of games would explode more. I could imagine a 3d Halo where bullets (plasma beams) fly right past you.
i definitely think its the future, but i dont think we are there yet. its gonna take some time until its really mainstream and widespread.
The motion sickness problem needs a solution before the tech can expect a mainstream market. It also needs to get more compact and easy to use.
All I hope is that the PSVR2 is forward compatible with the PS6, because I will not be buying another HMD.
I would like if one day we could get to the point where vr is like on thst movie Gamer. A dedicated vr room in every home, and the headset is just a pair of lightweight glasses. Hell I need to look set that movie again, it’s been years.
