I can't remember when the last stay of play was over an hour long. Hoping for more time dedicated to Sony first party studio updates.

Longer running is not a guarantee of quality! The June 2025 State of Play was 55 minutes - but the reaction was mixed. Some good games were shown but no megatonnes.

Hopefully, some gameplay will be shown of Intergalactic and possibly the Starfield 2.0 reveal and the PS5 Pro PSSR upgrade. But you never know, maybe Sony will show us a thirty minute deep dive of multiplayer game Fairgame$! 🤣

Oh God, I forgot Fairgame$ is still alive. I wonder when they'll announce it is canceled.

I hope they don't waste too much time on Marathon. Maybe a deep dive of sort towards the end of the month dedicated to Marathon. But no more than 5 minutes during this stay of play.
I do expect to see more details on Wolverine with a deep dive coming sometime in summer.
I am hoping for some news on Intergalactic as well.
I really want them to drop the demo of Phantom Blade Zero during the show.
Maybe we get a confirmation of FF7 Part 3's actual name with a short teaser.
RE9 will be in the show as well.
Yeah, you might be right about Starfield getting announced for PS5.

Like I do with every show, I am going to keep my expectations in check.

Edit - oh yeah the newly announced Horizon game will be there.

The fact that Horizon Hunters Gathering was announced a week before when it could've been saved for the State of Play makes me hopeful that Sony is aware that negative sentiment to multiplayer slop could contaminate the presentation - so it's best kept separate.🤞🏼

Intergalactic won't release until mid 27 at least mid 27 is the target date. according to Jason they're crunching now to make that possible date.

More than likely, we will get a new trailer (open beta accouncement) and an annocement of a dedicated SoP for Marathon. There are so many games coming in 2026 you could easily fill an hour show with well over a dozen games and don't for get we will probably get a hardware reveal for OLED Portal.

I still think they need to cut some of these State of plays down to 30 and save the rest and make it a full hour in May or June.

Or save up the first party stuff for gamefest. So we can have 3 to 4 first party games. It'll mean no first let games at any of the sop through out the year but the build up for gamefest would be worth it imo.

Just expect 1 or 2 good things from these out of Sony. Because of constant State Of Plays, the announcements are spread thin.

They announced Astro Bot, Intergalactic (Game Awards), Ghost Of Yotei, Saros, etc within months of each other. But never a lot all at once.

Maybe some Wolverine gameplay plus a release date, same as what they did for Spider-Man 2. Might even just be a Saros presentation as it's coming out soon.

Since they don't mention anything in-house, sounds like a third party showcase. Could be some good stuff shown, but don't expect first-party stuff in this one. Usually the 30-minute ones are in-house stuff. Not saying it's not possible, just don't go in expecting it.

I think it will likely be the usual publishers, Square and Capcom, getting the focus.

Media Molecule is doing a new IP. It's been a long time then could be ready at any moment to announce it.

Haven studios. Fair Games. Doubt we'll see if internal play tests weren't gong well.

Santa Monica ambitious game said to not be a new IP but technically sound project graphically. Won't be here imo would be shocking but no.

Bungies Marathon. Of course it'll be there.

Mars Tokon of course.

Yeah I can see more updates than anything.

I Also believe Herman said he wants at least one tent pole first party title to release a year.

Nice, I had a wayward thought though. Remember when Xbox one X came out. It was always “This is the most powerful console on the market!” And “This is where you get the definitive experience!”

Anyone notice how those levels of propaganda just don’t exist with the PS5 Pro? Like console wise it’s literally the top experience and no crazy post on it or how “Series X was a mistake” type posts.

After finding out Estein was involved with so much in gaming from Microtransactions to 4chan. It really makes me wonder how many of us were arguing with these bots for so long wasting our time on rage bait topics.

Sometimes Microsoft PR is over agressive to the point of becoming a detriment. It got to the point where their PR depended on unfounded claims and the console war it created. It became clear that a lot of the engagement that was created was fabricated.

You see this in politics alot where there will be a bunch of MAGA bots who accounts originate from Russia or Nigeria. it muddies the discourse by creating fake engagement designed to influence the marketplace of ideas without reflecting real percepetion..

That's because we've seen games run on pro while some games shine others
Games are just ok in it.

That was a mix of Xbox and Xbox fanboys propping it up more. Today a different landscape for hype and PR, journalism. I get the Series S being a mistake but how is the the X being a mistake?
