Square Enix has commented on the new art style it created for Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined.

On PS5®, the remake "Dragon Quest VII Reimagined," drawn in a 3DCG "doll look" with a warm, doll-like art style, takes 1st place.

VGChartz's Evan Norris: "Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is a great remake, in the end. It retains the core components of the PlayStation title — an emotionally powerful narrative, a diverse set of role-playing scenarios, and a tactically rewarding vocation system — and enhances them with gorgeous visuals, immersive voice-acting, several important quality-of-life features, and superior pacing. Is it the definitive version of the game, though? No, not exactly. In a noble attempt to streamline the experience, Square Enix has cut or sidelined too much content from the original. As a result, Dragon Quest VII fans should keep both in rotation."

Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined has dropped recently, and it might be another way to play one of the most divisive entries in the series.
It's not. It's amazing. I've heard nothing but positive comments about it.
Voice acting is amazing. The story is just as great as the original.
I am playing it now and it is great. How they will compare in the end I’m not sure but where I’m at in the game now there’s a lot to like about it.
I played the original 20 years ago and don't remember much of the story at all so it was pretty much new to me. Anything changed related to the story would go right over my head.
My brain does not like the look but I am sure other people like it
Absolutely love it. It looks and performs stunning on all platforms and the voice acting is in another league. Some of the very best the industry has ever seen.
Well done to the devs on this one.
It’s not my favorite art style but it’s not bad to me
All of I could do think of while playing as the Prince was “Matt Damon”
I like the look. It was odd at first but the more I saw of it the more I grew to like it.
