Nioh 3 Day-One Update Ver. 1.020.020 Released

Ahead of Nioh 3's release, Team Ninja has rolled out the day-one update as version 1.020.020, and this applies combat, enemy changes.

How is this? Haven’t had a chance to play the demo.

Off topic: I love how people who right now are commenting elsewhere that they don’t want multiplayer because all they want is single player, are not here to comment on this single player high profile exclusive. I guess its not really about single player (which is my own preferred genre), but more about complaining about multiplayer.

I would say that might be due to Team Ninja's own handling of their titles.

They put out 1-2 games per year, average to good, making Nioh 3 just kind of like another "Team Ninja l The Game: 2026 Edition" as opposed to this big grand release to be hyped about.

In your opinion Nioh 3 is not a big enough release? I would beg to differ personally. But isn’t that kind of exactly what my point is? If N4G is where all the single player gamers hang (such as myself), shouldn’t there be more of them at least interested enough to comment on Nioh 3? But yeah i dont disagree with you that Team Ninja dont spend as much as they should advertising.

Oh, personally I do think it is, but I think part of the reason it isn't being discussed like one is due to Team Ninja burnout.

But maybe it's just a sign of this website more than anything else - checking SteamDB, it's already more than doubled the peak player count of Nioh 2 and exceeds every other Koei Tecmo release to date. They must be happy

Nioh 3 PS5 Pro Review | Team Ninja's Best Combat, Open-Zone Friction | Spawning Point

Team Ninja's action RPG spanning five Japanese eras from 1190 to 1864, introducing a dual-style melee system that splits between Samurai Ki management and Ninja agility, representing the deepest melee action on PS5. Boss encounters are consistently excellent. The Katana Engine delivers 60fps on PS5 Pro but shows its age in visual fidelity and frame pacing. Open-zone structure replaces the mission-select format, with dense exploration and some formulaic activities. Over one million copies sold in two weeks. Essential for Soulslike enthusiasts; the most accessible entry point the genre has produced.
