I would add the very first Max Payne (PC) to the list. The bullet time was unique at the time and was so freakin awesome!

would have loved a new game plus in Control. instead they do that stupid mission select nonsense /sigh

Returnal nailed that slick gameplay loop.

Scarface: The World is Yours. The combat still feels great and the guns both sound and feel powerful. Scarface gave you the best of both lock-on and free aim. You lock onto targets and then fine tune to hit specific body parts, all of which give you different amounts of "Balls" points. Press the taunt button to hear Tony talk shit to his enemies, which gives you bonus Balls. Fill up the Balls meter and trigger Blind Rage mode where you go first person, have auto aim, infinite ammo, and infinite health. Then you just mow everyone down. There's even a proper cover system. The game still feels really satisfying to play.

That game deserves more respect. It introduced so many cool features that GTA and other open world games use these days. The way cops work since GTA IV with the circle on the map that you escape, it was the first open world game with a cover system, calling your driver to deliver cars, multiple playable characters that each have different missions and their own taunts, having unique conversations with random NPCs ala RDR2, trafficking drugs in Chinatown Wars and GTA Online, etc. The game was very influential.

I really love horizons combat it feels so smooth, at times it irritate u with a little stutter but that’s bout it 😂😅, of course Spider-Man 2018 and gow 2018, I love watch dogs combat as well also saints row 3

Spider-Man/Miles Morales is probably my favorite combat in recent memory. Doom 2016 as well.

Control is a fantastic game.

Sifu gameplay is extremely satisfying. Trying to breeze through without getting hit. Learning the maps, mastering the parrying and perfect dodges along with the art style makes for an amazing game.

I also liked the combat in prototype. After you level up a lot you feel unstoppable

Monster hunter world and ghosts of Tsushima for me.
