I admire & laugh at the same time at your enthusiastic desire to defend the XB brand but it is what it is. XB consoles just don't sell well anymore, never really did seeing most of their generations XB gaming console sales has been in 3rd place. Sony & Nintendo continues to wipe the floor with XB when it comes to gaming console sales. There's really no need for MS/XB to make next gen consoles anymore, MS/XB needs to just worry about there game rental service & being a 3rd party game publisher & developer.

It's very relevant for a few things. First and most importantly it gives us look into consumer behavior. As consumers the make up of the market gives us a valuable tool when dealing with corporations. Unfortunately the Xbox fanbase never learned how to use this to their advantage to make demands from Microsoft. Secondly it let's us know the actual size of the market and our collective power. Third consumers can infer which product is the most sought after by other consumers to gage its viability and to see where our fellow consumers are going. Fourth the data is ours, built by us and we are entitled to know it. Companies need to remember that they serve at our pleasure and not the other way around.

Fifth its information and knowledge is power.

And finally its funny. It speaks louder than any fanboy. It cuts through the BS.

The only people who think this are fanboys that can't accept their favorite console is getting destroyed by the competition. Sony and Nintendo are absolutely successful because of hardware. Repeating "consoles sold is irrelevant" is refusing to accept reality.

MS had to spend $80B just to pretend it's a big publisher. It's not like it happened naturally.
It'll take decades of profits to refund those $80B. Never forget that.
