Why is a 360 site talking about a Playstation exclusive? I don't even follow this site, but in the last week and a half I've watched them:
review Heavy Rain, which oddly enough is not available on the Xbox
and now they are writing articles about rumored reviews.
It's not even an official review, maybe they should wait until monday instead of wasting everyones time.

Yea, you're right Alpha it's not even that I disagree with their opinion, even though I would definitely give it a much higher score. My problem is with Metacritic, not the site. Metacritic has single handedly thrust importance onto sites that would otherwise go unnoticed.
Before the advent of Metacritic, how many of you had heard of BigPondGameArena, or Teletext game central? I'm sure some of you had, but their reviews probably would have gone unnoticed if not for metacritic.
See you're missing the point. It doesn't matter what they gave all those other games because it probably wasn't the same person that reviewed Heavy Rain. All this does is show that their reviews have been around the aggregate score for every other game.

Yea I really don't care about their previous reviews, they gave MGS4 a 10 out of 10 and I loved that game. My issue is with this review.
Anytime you see reviews almost a full 50 points below the average they are clearly outliers, and should not be counted in an average. They can still put an excerpt from the written review for those that are interested in reading it, but I think adding them in the average is stupid.

Sites like BigGameArena and Teletext are pretty much the reason I don't go to Metacritic anymore. If I'm at all interested in aggregate reviews I just head over to Gamerankings because it seems like they use some disgression in the sites that they include.
Over at Gamerankings Heavy Rain has over a 90% average and even at Metacritic it has an 87% with two 4 out of 10 bs reviews. I'm sorry, but when the average for a game is 90% and you give it a 4 out of 10 their is something wrong ...
Conando, I don't think you understand. The article you posted is referencing Xbox 360 and PC sales and before you get too ahead of yourself take a look at sales estimates from Vgchartz.
Uncharted 2: 2.80 million
Left 4 Dead 2: 2.61 million

Hey Conando, you realize that the highest reviewed 360 game of the year, Forza 3, barely sold 2 million. And the highest reviewed 360 game ever, Mass Effect 2, couldn't break 1 million first week sales.
Something that Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy 13 did with ease, despite the fact that Final Fantasy only released in Japan. And a little more light reading for you
Uncharted 2 first week: 837,569
Mass Effect 2 first week: 936,620
You realize Uncharted 2's outsold Left 4 Dead 2 right?
And really all you've proved is that PS3 owners have quite different tastes in games. If Uncharted 2 can sell 3 million, and Little Big Planet can sell 3 million in two completely different genres and still sell less than other exclusives like Gran Turismo and Metal Gear Solid it just shows how healthy and diverse the PS3's top tier titles are

I heard Game Informer gave Heavy Rain a 9.5 and a second oppinion of 8.5, and OPM US gave it a perfect score
I also heard they also gave Final Fantasy XIII a 9.25 and Bioshock 2 a 8.25, but I can't confirm it.
