Well there would be several benefits for them to do this as well. A greater install base of users just being the most obvious. I think that membership would explode if this happened and if they off-set some revenue loss by implementing dashboard ads, I think it might be worth it.
No, I know MS has been bad as well in the way you describe but I don't hear them always gloating about how awesome they are like Sony does. I STILL can't get over the statement that Sony could sell empty boxes at $600 and fans would still buy it because they are so loyal to them. That just really irked me.
MS is starting to get worse and worse though as Kinect draws near. They are hyping it up like nobodies business and it makes me wonder how crappy it is actually goi...
No actually the term is "bald-faced lie."
Edit: lol why did this factual statement get a disagree vote? If you don't believe me google the term people.
This is one of the reasons I have been really down on the PS3 and Sony this generation. Instead of lying about how great they are, they should admit their faults and work on correcting them.
I've already been covering the supreme court case for some time on my 360 column with several updates. Read my stuff Ted! http://www.examiner.com/xbo...
In addition to all the games named in the article, Square-Enix also said they didn't want reviews of Final Fantasy XIV until a month later...and look how that game scored!
The only real problem I have with them is that you can only buy them in integers of 400 while there are things that cost like 560 and what not. It's a waste. You should be able to buy them by the 100 so you can purchase how many you need more precisely.
Just another reason why gamer girls make the best girlfriends.
Bayonetta wasn't even that good. You can get it for like $15-$20 these days.
I doubt that any of these are anywhere even close to being real.
Actually it kinda would. Imagine what else is probably wrong...
If THIS slipped by, imagine what other problems are going to be in the game...
How come nobody has mentioned that PS Move came out last month and the 360 still was able to outsell the 360? It seems like Move isn't effecting sales much (if at all). It's too bad NPD stopped sharing their sales reports at such a crucial time. I would be interested to see if Move had ANY effect and wonder if Kinect is going to do anything either.
Motion gaming just doesn't seem all that fun to me no matter what console/peripheral you are using.
I don't really understand how they see Move affecting Christmas sales. 360 outsold the PS3 in September in North America despite Move's influence so I dunno how effective it really has been in boosting sales.
It's true though. Look at games like Gears of War and Killzone. They don't really look that good because all they do is utilize bland colors to give the appearance of having good graphics.
Please read past the first sentence of the reply, it shows that you are mistaken. Did you not understand that, either?!
Reading comprehension is not your strong suit I see. There was no comparison between Alan Wake's DLC and Halo: Reach's. Alan Wake's DLC was mentioned to point out that developers now have a history of cutting things that should/would have been included in the retailer version of the game and then charging extra for it later.
Bungie definitely milks its community with DLC. They are the only developer that REQUIRES people purchase the DLC to play in the online playlists. How is this not milking them?
To be honest, I don't think it will ever be free either. The name change just leads one to wonder why they would do that, though. There HAS to be a reason for changing something that is already very familiar to gamers.
