If it was truly to make the modding community better by allowing modders to make a living making high quality mods then they should have just introduced a donation option and kept their greedy hands out of it. I doubt that would have upset anyone to just allow people to support their favorite creators...
Yeah, Nintendo actually responded to that rumor and said there is no predetermined schedule for what games will be released or on which consoles. Surely they want to show some love to the newer systems they have added to virtual console but that doesn't mean they are done with SNES.
And it is also true that virtual console games are most definitely being emulated, not ported.

Ummm, the alternative is that they provide worthwhile content that people would be happy to buy at a fair price. I hardly see how taking advantage of stupid people that will pay for meaningless consumable digital content could be seen as a good thing.
@Joe913, There are ways for them to make extra money on the game while also treating their customers with respect and adding true value to their game. This is not "our" fault because companies like gamestop push used games like crazy. It is blatantly disrespectful to the people that ARE actually giving them money.
Just because it's most likely profitable doesn't mean it's ok. They are testing the waters, seeing how far they can push this stuff and if people just sit back and say, "oh well, doesn't affect me" then they will take it further next time. Eventually it will affect you.
I just really don't get what the point of this is? While yes, it is totally optional, it is also completely unnecessary and what you would expect from a free to play mobile game. These guys need to seriously cool it with the DLC and microtransaction crap, treat your customers with a little respect.
DLC would be awesome if developers/publishers made use of it in an honest way that was truly adding value for the consumer. Sadly, it's usually a dishonest, lazy cash grab.

Considering most DLC is lacking in content and overboard on price, I think it would do more harm than good for sales to actually show people what they would be getting for their purchase....so yes, it would be a good thing.
Well, I don't need obnoxious youtubers to think for me so I really don't mind if Nintendo shares their money with them. If it's come to the point where video game companies need to bow down and do business based on what people like Pewdiepie and Angry Joe want simply because they have a bunch of mindless followers then these are sad days...

Microsoft DID say they would be fine with it. Buuut I really don't think it would be in Nintendos best interest to include characters that are now known as one of their biggest competitors IPs. I don't think they've ever given an official reason that Snake wasn't included in the new games but it seems likely that it was something along these lines, so I don't see it being different for Banjo or Conker.
