I disagree Beans. Everyone should find their true selves. He should just join Nasim in the closet pronto. Besides, these are the worst types, pretending to be neutral so they can throw a low blow with apparently more authority, and it is obvious from past posts that is what he's been doing.
WOWOWOWOW!!! If you scrutinise till your eyes pop out and go crazy like Nasim's me-myself-and-I zombie army, you'd realize that the PS3 version really has slightly less pop-ins! I'm seriously amazed at what harddisk installation can do for a vastly inferior console! Thank you Rockstar for deceiving my eyes with 640p too. My PS3 is finally saved!!!
Now that quote is representative of an unbiased ex-Sony-exclusive developer. The cell architecture just ain't all that for games. In fact, if you read between the lines...
I guess nobody bothered to read the other threads or you'd all realize that the peculiar symptoms are widespread with PS3 whereas the complaints about 360 are few and unspecific in nature.
So INOUE, let's put aesthetics aside, are you now man enough to admit that from a technical standpoint, the console that requires harddisk installation and lower resolution to run GTAIV is clearly NOT the superior console? Because apparently a lot of peons on this site were trying to say otherwise just a day or 2 ago.
Think about what you're saying, 'cos the logical inference to make would be that if Halo 3 was done on the PS3, it'll probably have to be 480i.
@ above - LMAO maybe you should try to understand that different games have different demands - gameplay as vast as Halo 3 with smooth online multiplayer as priority certainly require more from a system than a single-player/ single character platformer like say Uncharted or that hack and slash Heavenly Sword.
I believe strongly that self-denial is not good for a person's spiritual and emotional well-being, and that is why I urge you all not to put up false justifications for having chosen a version of the game that you knew from the start will be somewhat lacking. Since you have consciously made your choice to root for a brand name albeit that it offers less, then the key to living with that choice is to learn to be satisfied with less rather than to criticize those who have more.
Its all coming back to haunt the droids HAHAHAHAHAHA! I'm sure I'll be having a few more good laughs when MGS4 launches with bloopers as well. Power of the Cell!
It all adds up. GTAIV was supposed to be released last year for 360, but it was delayed because (as speculation would have it) of development issues with the PS3 version and Rockstar was paid by Sony not to release the game on 360 before the PS3 version. Now we're seeing why there was all this delay - Rockstar had to find ways and means to make the game run on PS3 such as harddisk installation and lower resolution, and still there are game freezing issues.
It was telling enough which console is weak when the fact surfaced that one console has to rely on harddisk installation to run GTA4. Now we have this news that Rockstar also had to lower the resolution to make the game run on PS3... no wait, there are reports of the game freezing too. Dam am I glad I purchased the right version!
I wouldn't rule out that it is a console problem. My PS3 has hung many times - while using internet browser, while doing a software update (which takes a godawful long time), while playing a simple game like World Championship Snooker, while playing American Idol and most recently while initializing Pain on start up. I've had to restart my PS3 so many times that I can't discount those as 1-off incidents.
I suspect its got to do with the harddisk installation 'cos I don't know of any of the larger population of 360 gamers having lock-ups whereas quite a number of the smaller population of PS3 owners have already complained about the problem. Since the 360 is capable of running the game without resorting to a harddisk installation, then the problem shouldn't arise for 360 version.
Confirmed superior version.
Lol!
I think the verdict is clear. Harddisk installation can make a game superior on an inferior console. You have to wonder how the game would run on 360 with harddisk installation (but I suppose Rockstar decided 360 was powerful enough to run the game satisfactorily without it).
Nothing can save the PS3 imo. The combined damage done by Wii and 360 on Sony's market share is already irreversible.
I must admit harddisk installation is a smart way to make a game superior on an inferior console.
What I worry though for PS3 owners is that online multiplayer has become a big enjoyable part of the game. But I guess 40 hours of single player is still sufficient to justify the purchase of the PS3 version although if that's where the enjoyment is limited to, they sure could do with some exclusive DLCs.
They're all Nasim's alter egos.
Consider this Nasim, PS3 needs a harddisk installation to make things run a little bit smoother. I wonder why.
If PS3 requires a MANDATORY installation into the harddisk to achieve a marginal advantage over 360 in terms of load times and pop-ins, then it is quite obvious which console is superior. I can't begin to imagine how the PS3 version will be running without installation...
Oh really what about PS3 exclusives? It is past 1/3 of the year already and all I have seen is GT5 prologue which really counts as half a game anyway.
