I'd love to see Sony acquire Insomniac. I think it makes sense, given their close relationship in the past and would be a good fit. From Software is another one I'd like to see Sony acquire.
I've been saying that (for now) this is much ado about nothing.
Other than Gears, Halo, and Forza the exclusive lineup for 360 was largely smoke and mirrors. The system enjoyed a lot of TIMED exclusivity due to the year head start it had over PS3 and there were a lot of games that MS had advertising rights to that gave the perception of exclusivity to the general public. MS got a LOT of mileage out of those two factors. However what the end of the 360 generation and all of the X1 generation showed was the emperor had no clothes. That business model fi...
"Days Gone" kinda describes Xbox for this whole generation.
No they didnt (regarding PS3). You need to go back and learn your gaming history. PS3 launched in 2006 and ended production in 2014. Thats an 8 year run, which is very good for a home console. During or right before PS4's launch, Sony released The Last if Us, Gran Turismo 6, Puppeteer, Beyond Two Souls, and God of War Ascention. Hardly the earmark of a company "cutting off" support. You dont know what you're talking about.
I'm not. Many who owned it on PS3 double dipped for the better version on PS4. Plus there are a lot of PS4 owners who never owned a PS3 and experienced it for the first time on PS4. GTA V went through a similar situation.
For me its Horizon Zero Dawn (so far), but GOW is of course way up there too!
"One could argue that Sony is shooting themselves in the foot by supporting their last gen systems the way they do..."
Well sure, if one wants to sound like a dumbass lol!
Look, when this generation is finally a wrap, Sony will own the #1, #2, #3, and #5 all time highest selling home consoles in gaming history (not counting handhelds). Part of that success is due to the fact that they have earned the trust of consumers generation after generati...
Isnt time though?
I'm just curious why the author only singles out the PS5. Why not say this for ALL of next gen?
DVD playback wasnt a "gimmick." It was a damn nice built in feature that added a ton of value to the console. Now, motion controls? That was a gimmick!
God help us.
Basically in the future Sony may use Microsoft's Azure servers to power their network services such as PSN, Vue, and PS Now. In exchange Sony will share their expertise in semiconductor and AI technology with MS. However nothing is set in stone. They are only "exploring" the possibility right now. As usual, fanboys and the gaming media has decided to make way more out of this than what it is (for now)
This is proof positive that developers are artists, not business people
Well good thing Sony Bend doesnt plan their development schedule around you, lol
Christ almighty. Fanboys just dont know when to stop! Now we're arguing over who stands to gain more from this partnership, eventhough the article clearly explains that it's a quid pro quo, mutually beneficial deal? Really?? Is this really where we are now in the console wars? It's a win/win for all parties involved! Why cant we just leave it at that?
Does the patch fix the checkerboard issues the game has with the PS4 Pro?
That's coming.
Yes I realized I had that wrong but I couldnt go back and edit my original post. You're right, 599.99 was the MSRP ifor the Deluxe PS3 n the US.. They did offer a 499.99 model as well but nobody wanted that one.
Most of those are a given. I was expecting a more eclectic list of dormant IP's like maybe Syphon Filter, Dark Cloud, Warhawk, Legend of Dragoon, Twisted Metal, Mod Nation Racers, Parappa The Rapper, War of the Monsters, Jak and Daxter, Soul Reaver, Jumping Flash, etc.
