I'm not convinced, however here is a demonstration
@malokevi
Completely agree with you. Bring all my digital experiences together under one platform, knowing they will all communicate with each other; brilliant! One of the reasons I'm choosing the Xbox One.
I've never been a huge fan of MS, however if they did an Xbox phone I'd be right in there. Where do I pre-order? lol

The ESRAM is used for tiled resources; the single biggest reasons why all these Sony numbers are utterly meaningless when determining the capabilities of each console. 32mb of ESRAM is huge, twice what is really needed today.
From Toms Hardware, also look for the presentation from MS on YouTube. Very interesting..
"This technique was demonstrated with a model of Mars which displayed a 3 GB texture using just 16 MB of GPU...
I never realised how much of a PS fanboy site this was. Absolutely every single article about the Xbox One is ripped and torn apart, each update claiming to be "unbiased" or declaring "indisputable facts" about hardware specs despite very little knowledge of the architecture behind the specs.
The point I this article is positive, good news; you know "good for games". Unless of course you can't bear to see the Xbox One offer look like a better...
A lot of people DO want Kinect and most of those being negative about it are missing the whole picture. It's not just about jumping about the room; it's about voice control, the subtleties of movement with the controller and yourself. For example, tilting yoru head to look around a corner in a FPS game, looking left and right whilst racing, moving the controller to activate another weapon and a bucket load more that the best developers in the world can come up with. I already use voic...
Why would bringing back DRM make the discs useless?
@tokugawa You're spot on. PC's have both memory types because they are both good for different tasks.
The memory is not the definitive measure of how well either console will game, you have to know how it uses the memory and to be honest, that information is still a little light on the ground.
Manufacturers like to though big numbers around because it makes for good marketing, but has no real measure on the power of the console - just look at how muc...
@Tomshoe
If numbers don't lie which if these cars is faster?
(1) The red one with 161hp?
or
(2) The blue one with 122bhp?
Without knowing anything about the cars you can't answer the question correctly.
The blue is faster because it's a Lotus Elise and the red one is a Toyota Rav4. Do the numbers lie?
Foxgod is absolutely correct. Both systems function quite differently and will have advantages over the other in different areas.
The whole GDDR5 is better than DDR3 argument is the most over used argument in this debate. GDDR5 is a variant of DDR3; it has higher bandwidth but it's bottle neck is high latency. Both are just as important when creating games.
The PS4 is designed to shift large chunks of data between the GPU and memory (large textures). The ...
Yes. It's a variant of DDR3 as well. Nearly 500 Gb/s....shame the latency is over a minute though. :-D
It also has the PS Eye bundled by default.
I'd like to see more in the tiled resources of directx 11.2. It would appear to be an excellent solution to extending the life of graphics card and start making them work smarter rather than just throwing more and more memory and power into them.
@slc_chops. My point exactly. Developers need to know the Kinect/PS Eye will be there or they won't develop for it. If they don't develop for it or just half heartedly implement something because MS/Sony give them cash to add some pointless feature, people won't buy the Kinect/PS Eye and those who do, sell it on because there are no decent games that use itt. It's verging on a catch 22. By bundling it with the Xbox One, MS have given all developers a chance to create new way o...
Seriously, what kind of comment is that? Try to be constructive or at least give a view point that enhances the discussion. Anyone can be insulting.
@Husomc Do you think games will be enhanced because developers know the kinect is there to be used or will it only make games worse and what is your reasoning?
They did, I had it for my PS2. The argument is not who invented the technolgy, but if this technology is to advance and be little more than a gimmick, then developers need confidence the investment they make it developing for it will return a profit.
Microsoft saw this with the original kinect, which is why they have bundled it now. Giving you options, does not help developers create great games. They need to know what they are developing for. The more variations, the less t...
Buy an Xbox 360 with Kinect and you'll see.
"I don't want a camera always looking at me". "The kinect is an invasion of my privacy". "The kinect is just a gimmick, not for real gamers".... "I can't believe the arrogance of Microsoft in bundling something I don't want"
...however, a Sony version based on something M$ did 3 years ago is really cool and impressive innovation from Sony!
Well done to Sony for not bundling it with the PS4 and ensuring it is...
We are creatures of habit, very few embrace change, particularly big changes or changes we don't understand.
Microsoft are looking to the future, digital media is here today and games are already going that way on every other gaming platform but consoles; it was too much and badly promoted, so the masses revolted.
I personally do hope they bring it back; not the DRM per se, but the features that needed effective DRM. Better comms and more flexibility i...
Really, you're worried about the camera?? What about the forward facing camera on you phone that is continuously sending images of you to Prism along with all your emails, texts and phone calls. What about the security cameras in the street, shops or any other public place? They're also sending all your details to government agencies!
What you're worried about is that Microsoft aren't really interested in making a great games solution, just that try pretend to...
