I understand what you mean and fully agree, the 1st game had a challenge, an appeal not found in the other 2 games. Simple but better.
I have all three games for PS3 and still think the first one was the best. The racing was more pure, fewer but better tracks and the focus was on racing and not the environments or 3D. Ramming was done by steering, not using a button. Speed was only achieved by carefully steering and using boost wisely, in Apocalypse it's often max speed all the way. That doesn't make it great imo.
Online was great to with the lobbysystem, a shame the servers are down now. Piloting a rallycar ...
Build a buggy- or jetbike dispenser b4 grabbing the flag, throw a grenade first to destroy any proxy mines and getting sniped in this game is usually your own fault, as soon as you see the laserbeam creeping towards you it's zigzag time. I love the addition of the laser, it helps everyone but the sniper himself, brilliant move by LBI. A lot less camping now, as soon as a sniper uses his scope the targets will know.
Oh man, that was funny. The guy in the buggy, on my way=) One of the best things about B&B is you can deploy structures when driving or flying, you don't have to get out of your vehicle or even stop. You can jump in a Hawk, fly over the enemybase to quickly deploy turrets, or a getaway vehicle dispenser for CTF games. Or just fly around with a bunker selected to build, with a little luck or excellent timing you can drop it right on top of moving vehicles, very satisfying.
I just finished that challenge on the Nordschleife, after reading your comment, and although it looks great and a bit different indeed, I think it's the lightning that does it, the 'angle of the sun' is different compared to all the races (non 24H) on Nordschleife in the regular GT5. But I hope I'm wrong and you're right. We'll see:)
Brilliant, I love reading BS like this, makes me smile out of pity. The dumb idiot conveniently forgets the one important thing there is to these gameconsoles, which is games. Sony is the only one that still has a healthy amount of games for core gamers released all year, there isn't much anymore expected from the other 2. An improved Kinect he says...why, anything wrong with this one?
And bad servers? PSN works great for me. Yesterday MAG still ran smooth for me for hours, I just...
Downloading right now:) It's 3021 MB, a lot bigger than 2010's GT Academy, that was 200-300 MB. Plenty of time to install my Fanatec wheelstand and GT5 wheel, a good & affordable combo I would like to say. Dubai here I come=)
Probably three weeks of watching the #1 ghostcar slowly but steadily increase the gap just like last time, but fun nonetheless.
Edit: almost 8 weeks, untill june 24. Cool, this & Starhawk next week, good times.
Dust isn't going to ruin EVE. First of all Dust starts in a closed, monitored part EVE, not the entire universe (I heard of nullsec and highsec but really, I don't know what's what). Second, when Dust launches it will remain in development, it's not finished. And the major reason for that is CCP doesn't know if EVE players will like this. If not then the impact of Dust games on the universe will remain minimal, or closed to a small part of EVE that pilots can ignore. If a ...
A 2012 releasedate announced for The Last Guardian would be nice, or early 2013 for that matter. I want that game. Don't even need gameplay footage, just an estimate on how long we still have to wait. It will be worth it, but we've waited long enough now. If no date then a quarter, say Q4 2012 or something. Anything.
Make a new DTM/Toca game, a proper racegame. With all the races and without the fuzz. Last gen you could laugh at GT's sterility, DTM3 was miles ahead in terms of racethrills, and it didn't need Grid's Hollywood BS.
From the original source:
"We'll come to that in a minute, but first it's worth considering the people responsible. The fertile creative community Sony has fostered around its Santa Monica base is notable not just for big ticket blockbusters like Uncharted and God of War, but increasingly also for leftfield, commercially risky experiments it funds and allows to flourish.
Put it this way: without Sony there would be no Journey. And there's another unde...
I play MAG for 2 years already and I'm about to do the same with Starhawk, now those games actually do something fresh, not done before. Pretty graphics come and go all the time, and both Crysis 1 & 2 (on PS3) didn't exactly blow me away. Still, part 1 was fun to play.
I thinks it's cool there's a SP campaign, I will try it out eventually, but this is one of those games I buy to play online immediately. Of course it helps when you played the beta and are familiar with the vehicles and the Build & Battle system, but the meat is in the multiplayer and I hope reviewers will recognize this. I mean this game has it all: dedicated servers, game/server list, big 32 player maps, very well balanced ground- & airvehicles that provide multiple ways to ...
Guess you didn't play the public beta, but you can breath now...the variety in gameplay is indeed top notch, and very very well balanced. Addictive as hell, day one for me.
Yes they are, just like our comments. Doesn't matter both ways, CoD will always sell and there's always enough other games to play.
I read on a German site they're aiming for a Spring 2013 releasedate, which would be excellent imo. I know SM have been helping LBI with Starhawk, but this could be in development for 2 years already with another year to go. Think what ND did with their engine in 2 years, SM should be capable of doing the same. I expect Ascension to look absolutely stellar. This is by no means a cash-in, and I'm really looking forward to it.
"But there was a time before Kratos became the monster known as the Ghost of Sparta", so before he killed his wife and child.
"A time when something other than rage consumed him. A time when in spite of the madness that plagued him, Kratos would break his blood oaths to an unjust god", so after he killed his wife and child, and begged Athena to stop the visions.
"A time when he would no longer be bound in blood", so after he kill...
Nice try Darpa, but I don't see this thing squash water melons, apples perhaps, but no melons.
Just cut down on the booze a bit and you do a whole lot better online.
Perhaps for the masses, but for me the #1 multiplayer game this year will be an exclusive, 5 reasons:
1. runs on dedicated servers up to 32 players, and runs smooth judging on the beta.
2. has full clan support, battles, tournaments, the works.
3. features ground- & aircombat with very well balanced vehicles, lots of ways to play.
4. adds unique RTS elements, provides new tactical gameplay not seen before.
5. created with the focus on fun &...
