Destiny always made you go back to the tower to decrypt all of your gear before you could use it.
From Launch of D1 all the way up until Forsaken came out in early September, you could never pick up a gun and use it immediately, save for the junk guns that you would most likely just dismantle anyway.
I'm not defending the idea of how it works, I'm not a big fan of it either, but I'm just saying Destiny did the same thing and it was never rea...
Damn, I forgot when this came out...
I was going to pick this up to fill the gap, but I'll be playing Anthem on EA Access early the same day this launches... It's going to have to wait awhile, I think.
lol, ok wait...
Destiny is not "literally just halo."
They are FPS games with guns... That's pretty much the only similarity.
You're changing the rules. They said "before it came out," not before it was shown off.
They could have started development in August of 2014 for all we know, and that statement would be true.
Why is that hard to believe?
Destiny came out just a little over 4 years ago.
I'd be more surprised if they said it WASN'T in development before Destiny came out.
What game did battle royale before PUBG?
And I'm not just talking number of players.
The whole concept with dropping into the play zone to pick your starting point, and the shrinking playable area, etc...
"Having more players can be counter-productive" most likely means "it wouldn't be fun if 30 people just blow up the whole city in the first 30 seconds of a match."
Not every game needs to be a battle royale or have a huge number of concurrent players.
I'm sick of this argument with almost every new MP game. More players does not automatically equal more fun.
Would Fortnite be better if it was 200 players? 5...
Well between both Destiny games I think I have about 3000 hours in them.
So I'd say I'm familiar with Destiny.
I see that you have a laundry list of problems with Destiny, but since Anthem has not released much concrete info, especially about the endgame activities, how are you so positive that it is going to be the complete opposite of a game you hate so much?
I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, I really want to know, ...
Well that's fine that you don't like the game, but that doesn't mean you should go around spreading misinformation about it.
And just curious, but if you hate Destiny so much, why are you excited for Anthem which seems like it will be nearly the exact same kind of game?
Peruzzi you are completely wrong about Destiny.
The only thing that doesn't have random perks on it are Exotic weapons.
Every legendary, and every Exotic Armor has random rolled perks on it.
And the reason they limit you to one exotic weapon and one exotic armor is to make you choose what you want the most for the current situation, and plan your build accordingly.
If you could wear exotic armor in every slot and ...
You must have some bad luck with matchmaking.
I leveled up a bit before trying the first forge but I think I've only failed a forge attempt like 3 times out of a couple dozen.
Everyone I run into seems to know exactly what to do.
I couldn't be less interested in the online portion of this game. Still need to finish off the Epilogue, though. Single player mode was great.
"Anthem looks like a 3rd person Destiny."
I know it does and I can't freaking wait. I pre-ordered after E3.
It's going to be awesome.
YoRHa??
@Goldby
I'm not saying that is wrong, but it sure doesn't seem to make much sense.
Honestly, that probably means it IS true. lol
I think they've already said you can play the whole game solo if you want.
I'm sure you'll still need to be online, though, as I imagine your characters are stored online much like Destiny or other MMO-type games.
You mean that games get better as they progress further into development? That's amazing.
The article is talking about something completely different.
I'm not sure why they used "games as a service" when they are talking about game subscription services like game pass. A "netflix for games", so to speak.
You would think somebody that writes about games would know the definition of basic gaming terminology instead of using a headline that has no bearing at all on the article they are writing.
Yeah there was one yesterday, too. lol

I think no PvP is a plus.
That removes a huge part of the problem with balancing different weapons and gear.
Just my 2¢
