On a gaming console? Which main feature is, you know, gaming?
So every kind entertainment is gaming?
>>but the price is $40-$50 a pop and people just ain't going to spend that kind of money on games
They are spending those money on 3DS games already.
I'm mostly for Knack. But also for inFamous and Deep Down.
@jtmgames
Nevertheless AC Liberation sold as well as RE Revelations with big marketing and huge install base of 3DS. And Retro City Rampage got its biggest sales on Vita. Also Shuhei Yoshida said that digital sales for Vita sometimes bigger than on PS3. Indie developers announced and released a whole bunch of their games for Vita.
I think the install base of Vita consists mostly of core gamers that know the industry well, hence doesn't need much marketing.
Assassins Creed Liberation sold on Vita as well as Resident Evil Revelations sold on 3DS. Retro City Rampage had the biggest sales on Vita than on any other platform. There are whole bunch of good and great games and small ones via PSM. Even Sony said that digital sales on Vita is doing great, sometimes better than of PS3. The platform may have not so big install base, but it has high attachment rate. Vita also slowly becoming a platform for indie developers.
So it's all OK with t...
You nailed it!
"Will PS4 kill dumb sensationalism?" I guess only fire can kill such stupidity.
$1000 for a base model. The Premium one is $1450.
I would kickstart the Darksiders 3, if developers decide to.
Gloom article already?
They showed a whole bunch of good and great JRPGs and anime games for japanese market that are still in the making for this year, but.. "RIP Vita". Nice logic!
Sony must make this thing mandatory at least for PS4.
Maybe because 3DS can't party chat, Skype, Twitter, email and Gravity Rush? Or can it?
Sony already supports PSV much better than PSP in its first years.
@darthv72
Cross-controller and surface features are looking at you. Not to mention Move or Kinect, with wich you can drag and move objects directly on the TV screen without a need for a tablet's screen.
PSP didn't had titles that strong in its first year. Not to mention other good games like Assassin's Creed Liberation, LBP, Zero Escape, Ninja Gaiden, Unit 13, a bunch of good fighting games and some others.
I think there's some kind of agreement between Capcom and Nin that forbids Capcom to publish RE:R on other portable consoles. That's the only sensible reason I can think of.
Bigger 3DS's install base didn't help RE:R sales much. So...
@ cause you were on a budget ?
The entry price for PSV is really higher than for 3DS. But 3DS doesn't have a PS+ with free games (Uncharted, Mortal Kombat, Ninja Gaiden...). So yes, you pay for device, for the memory card and for PS+, but in the end you've got free games.
@cgoodno
Logic failed in the very first comment. The one from KarmicDemon. Gaming IS entertainment. BUT gaming is not the only kind of entertainment. AND the gaming console should focus mainly on gaming side of entertainment in the first place.
