If he's going to have a sword, I'm thinking that the only way they can pull this off is to make it an RPG. And if that's the case, maybe it won't suck after all. Lord knows we Wii owners need more RPG's ya know?
I can't stand the false idea that somehow more violence and shooting makes a game more adult. I can see how the idea came about since such games are supposedly forbidden/not recommended for children. However, the truth is countless kids play violent games anyway. It could probably be argued that the 16 and under group is at least equal to or surpasses the older group in number when it comes to those types of games.

It appears that Nintendo has "Dunaway" with appealing to the hardcore at E3. I've been far more disappointed than I have been intrigued or excited.
God of War 3 will truly be a system seller imo. I've been holding out on getting a PS3 for that and FFXIII. Now I hear that FF will be available on the 360, and there is still no way I'm not getting a PS3 for God of War 3. I wonder if somehow this will help Xbox sales in Japan though? Doubt it...
MOST 3rd party developers don't put alot of time/effort into their games anyway. By the time this is released next spring, there will be a whole new pile of 3rd party crap to accompany it. Nintendo knows that, and probably kept it secret to make sure there were no leaks, since it is one of their few worthwhile E3 announcements.

There's no way FFXIII gets released on anything but the PS3 imo. I'd bet money even that Sony wrapped up exclusivity on that one before the PS3 even debuted. All of the Square Enix RPG's being recently and in the near future on the Xbox 360 are pretty much the consolation prize, while Nintendo is getting DS remakes and obscure, off the wall RPG's from them for the Wii.

If there is one area graphically that the Wii excels it is with cartoon/manga style graphics. Tales of Vesperia may look a little better in HD if they put in the extra work, but not enough for it to matter. ToS 2 looks great. Assuming that the gameplay is at least equal to the original this game will be awesome. As for Tales of Vesperia, all we really know about it so far is that it's an HD tales game. Big whoop, and very hard to proclaim as better than something else since no one really know...
Regardless of what it may look or sound like based on the "little info" we have on it, as game journalists/commentators they should at least play it before they talk crap. How annoying.

...it all comes back to the Nintendo approach, which grows more and more bold each year. Focus on the new people whom they don't already have hooks in their mouths. Tell the die hards what to think. (Animal Crossing is the hardcore game they've been waiting for). And finally, America gets the crap announcements. Save the good stuff for the TGS. I love Nintendo, and have been with them through thick and thin, but alot of the time it really feels like they are telling me to go F*ck off.
