I agree on most of his points, but not the one about achievements. More often than not they're a waste of time disguised as replay value. I don't need the game to tell me congratulations for scratching my ass, or for simply having the brain power to turn the game on properly. I just want the games to be fun enough to replay again and again without a B.S. system that plays to perfectionist or O.C.D. tendencies.
Well, I hope that you view my comment as opinion based on individual observation rather than a condemnation of the system. For all of its faults, it (the system) works, and it definitely could be worse.
It sounds as though (the rumored specs taken into account) it would have been too expensive to launch in 2009. I doubt Nintendo is going to go from affordable to absurd in one fell swoop.
Here are the top 3 problems with the submission system imo:
1. People approve, comment, or report without reading or even checking articles to confirm/approve content.
2. One report usually dooms an article to Hades, even if the report is unfounded. People see red and they ignore it, while all it takes is a single lazy idiot or hater to click report.
3. People are sometimes afraid to approve articles due to how strict things are at times. i.e...
Exactly. Which makes all of the excessive love and hate surrounding this thing a bit ridiculous.
I had to laugh at how for N4G purposes this game and trailer were classified as 'Casual'. In any case, the game looks awesome. 2D or 3D gameplay style, make your choice. I like it.
As long as Sakurai is already working on the next Smash Bros. this is good news.
The 3DS will be fine. This is what happens when you announce a bunch of cool games, yet very few of them are available to consumers. It'll get better with time, but honestly, Nintendo doesn't deserve more 3DS sales at this point in time.
One of the problems that Nintendo faces with the 3DS is that while it is selling alright, many people still just don't know what it is, or haven't heard of it. They just may go ahead and announce their new console. We just may not actually see it for a year or a year and a half.
I don't know if it's true or not but, Yes please?
lol Haters gonna hate I guess... He was spot on about the character design though. Funny stuff.
Ha ha, thanks for your concern. But I wasn't implying that I personally have social problems. I was just speaking in general.
I of course couldn't say for sure, but for many people excessive gaming probably occurs when they have no other options. (No friends, no friends available, no other available activities, etc.) I wonder if their pre-study gaming habits were taken into account? Some people just love to play games and do so alot. Others do it more when they don't have other options. I for one am not depressed when playing games! Interesting thought process though.
The only Launch game worth buying at the $40 price point imo is Super Street Fighter 4.
Damn... Sounds 'Rise of the Robots' bad...
Not only should they do it for Steel Diver, but also for Face Raiders. It brings out the game's intention better.
Collection? There will be 15 million 'collections' out there so I hope you aren't hoping it will be worth something. If you are sick of the game, go ahead and stop buying it. We won't get any true innovation in this genre until developers are forced to up their game.
lol Wow. Owned.
Until some serious RPG's come out, I won't be playing any games on the 3DS for anywhere near 4 or 5 hours at a time. Hopefully though a new yet uncompromising battery is released by then though.
That's a cool idea. I like how on the 3DS you can get stuff like the Mario hat for your Mii, etc. You wouldn't have to actually 'wear' the Master sword, but you could choose to. And the 'achievement' would actually be worth something.
