Then I saw 'Woobat'. Nintendo needs to stop that crap. They should only release newly created pokemon when they are sure that the majority of them are excellent. And spread it out! I would like more RPG's on console, and of better quality please...
I have no intention of missing out on any of the next generation consoles as long as they each have a unique spin to them and are of high quality. First day purchases? I don't know about that sort of thing anymore. For any of them.
What? No Giygas? You literally had to Pray to beat that boss. And it was one of the most creepy and freaky bosses that's ever been in a game.
Wait until the internet browser, 3D video, movies, and of course more good games roll out. This thing is going to sell lot hotcakes. Even at $250. The grisly truth of right now is that Super Street Fighter 4 and the AR games are the only really good games out for it so far; and all of those get old quick.

Wait what happened? I thought Joystiq was a respectable site? That score, and that Perfect Dark comment can't come from any place other than pure Wii hate. Dislike the Wii all you want, but Conduit 2 is one of the best looking games on the system, and leaps and bounds above anything the 64 was able to do. Maybe they're just trolling for hits from Wii haters? How pathetic.
If the console reads the disks faster (They may even be using cartridges since SD cards can hold a lot of data now) then there is no need for install. Installing is a burden that I'd rather not deal with if possible. Also, a lack of Hardrive will discourage people from trying to install Linux, etc. and do all of those things to their console that these companies can't stand.
While I've been disappointed at times this Wii generation, they never lost me. I own all 3 consoles, and whenever I'm disappointed or bored with what's out on one, there's usually something good to play on another. I haven't played my Wii very often since DKCR, but in all honesty, I'd rather spend my money on 3DS games now, and am excited that a new Nintendo console is on the way. I'm buying this just to support Namco and the Tales series. Abyss was a good enough game. I didn't dislike it. But I'd much rather have Symphonia or Vesperia on the hand held. I wonder if Namco knows how many people buy their games just to keep them coming for the brilliant ones that pop up every so often?
It's true. Those expecting a huge technical jump in the next generation of consoles are in for some disappointment. Developer costs are already too high as it is. Expect refinement of the 1080p level of developing. It will be easier and cheaper for developers to put out good looking games similar to and slightly better looking than what we have now - and most homes now have HD TV's in them finally. Each console company will have their own 'gimmick' or perceived advantage. But ...

A 'rumor' list like this that was actually based on fact would have to have many many reliable sources. Not just one or two or three. Someone just made this crap up. A shame too because so many people's gaming desires would be fulfilled if it were true.
I think a major reason for Nintendo's success, is that for the most part, they don't really give a damn about what the 'Doubters' think.
If 'Catering to the Hardcore' is things like the rumored port of Modern Warfare 2 or Black ops to the console in 2012, then I'm going to have issues with it. Who wants to play ANY 3 year old FPS? They can keep all of them. Old and new as far as I'm concerned. I am quite burned out on the genre. I wonder if the 3DS will be able to operate as an alternative controller? Of course it only has one analog stick though.
They certainly could afford it if they sold at a loss for a (relatively) short time.
Well it's not impossible. But I could only see them using it as a last resort. They're more likely to come up with their own disk format again, probably more based on HDdvd tech that held 20-25 GB I would say. Or even just stick with the DVD-like format since Xbox 360 'gets by' with it.

While I agree to some extent, it's obvious that the BluRay in a Nintendo console bit just isn't true. They just don't operate that way.
