Alright Nintendo. You have your Wii U launch window now. I'm not buying it on Wii U months late with the only difference being the controller experience.
Yes but all of those consoles you mentioned, while weaker, they were comparable in terms of what they were capable of. As long as it's comparable, and I won't be missing out on games, I'll be happy. I have no intention of buying all 3 consoles again next generation like I did this one. Both Hand helds sure. But two consoles tops. They're just too expensive. And I'm looking for REAL value. Not perceived value, or 'What we think we can get away with charging' value. ...
Why would anyone want a GBA Pokemon game for download since you can't transfer Pokemon over to versions you can actually battle on and have newer moves and abilities?
Now do the investors really want Nintendo to make games for iPhone, or is this just a hint to the executives that they want Nintendo to start making handheld gaming devices that double as phones?
PLEASE let it be Pokemon.
Two words. Chrono Trigger.
These days 'All-Time' apparently is restricted to 2000-current as well as whatever limited genre spectrum the writer is bound by. GTA IV when it's all said and done just may be worthy of being in such 'All-Time' company though.
That's all fine and good Kanji, plenty of truth there, but that's not all there is to it. Sometimes people don't see past the hype until the hype is over. When something is new, it deserves the acclaim in those people's minds, but then later after emotion dies down, time passes, and perspective is gained, a game is seen more for what it actually is. And yet, the initial review scores, and acclaim and 'Ratings' remain.
I realize that holiday season dollars are important, but why these companies don't spread it out more, rather than such direct competition I just don't get. The industry is choking itself. I mean this is how good games get passed over. People only have so much time and money to spend on entertainment at any given portion of the year. I know that I personally could sure use one or two of those games right now. Then by November, I'd be ready for the next set of potential greatness. ...
Also, you've got to love how since this article ISN'T negative, it's getting very little attention. This community as a whole is pathetic sometimes...
I won't report this article as lame, even though I want to, but I'm REALLY sick of these articles. 'Why would a Playstation gamer buy this when blah blah blah Vita/PS4, etc. etc.' Oh I don't know, maybe because they like games, and different ways to play them? Maybe because many people can *gasp* buy Sony's offerings AND a Wii U?
It's as if there's an anti-Nintendo propaganda campaign going on right now, courtesy of Nintendo hating Sharks who ...
I'm glad they are doing something, but I have zero interest in those NES games that I've either played enough for this lifetime or have no interest in. So far the GBA titles sound nice though. I hope they offer some Fire Emblem.
Translation: 'Yeah, I was wrong and a jerk about it, but don't call me on it, it means you have no life.'
lmao...
Yeah, the current 'Woes' center more around the fact that Nintendo couldn't sustain the record pace of financial improvement each quarter for their shareholders than anything else. They'll be fine. Millions of people love their products. Nintendo just needs to present them in the proper manner, make the price right, and keep them coming.
Propaganda? Seriously? It's like there's this movement by some gaming sites to try and 'capitalize' on Nintendo's recent struggles. Is this what brand loyalty has come to? Pathetic.
Just speaking for me personally, since I have no interest in the NES games, and unless the GB Advance games include Fire Emblem, and the better SNES remakes, I'm not all that interested in those either.
I'll take the 20 games. However, I'd much rather receive a voucher for a free Windwaker and Smash Bros Melee download for when the Wii U is released. Hell, it would be to Nintendo's benefit also. They'd have a large group of people who have more incentive than before to buy the Wii U. *shrug*
Let's also not forget that Mario Kart doesn't come out every single year from the depths of 'To be patched Hades'.
The games may be similar, but typically there is only one per hardware generation, and there is generally a significant new way to enjoy the gameplay.
A shame for me that it's in L.A. I had hoped they'd have a concert in Mountain View or San Francisco. Ah well. Still glad they are doing this. Hopefully it will lead to more of such things. I'd love for Square Enix, Namco, etc. to do something similar.
I am surprised. Don't the Japanese usually dominate?
