Dude you obviously never played a castlevania title otherwise you would see the incredible amount of cameos from the Castlevania universe made for this game.
LOS looks more like Shadow of colossus than GoW.
Castlevania is a lot older than GoW series, and those creatures in the picture are part of the gothic feeling the franchise has since the NES...
So maybe GoW took inspiration from Castlevania?
